Updated Emoticons Dicate How 'Sophy' Is Feeling

With the updated emoticons above the 'Sophy' AI, the player will be able to tell exactly how the AI is doing with multiple options throughout the entire event. The new emotions range between confidant and nervous, as well as a multitude of other feelings in between.

Players can control the AI to dictate aggression, difficulty, and overall pace. This tool is fantastic for practising your racecraft and patience, with some of the new AI settings being on an e-sport driver level.

Not only have there been some aggression and difficulty tweaks, but the race strategy is also customizable and player-controlled. This is fantastic for simulating race and stint distances

Gran Turismo will use feedback to correct issues with the car's response. The AI should be able to accurately predict what happens further up the road; currently, it has some issues, but it is a goal for the future that the team will undoubtedly hit in 2025.

What do you think about the new 'Sophy' AI updates and changes? Is it a tool you want to use to progress your racing? Let us know in the comments down below!

This has nothing, literally nothing to do with S397 being able to make a F1 game instead of EA/CM.

When you think about F1 game you think only about physics and driving the cars. What makes F1 games (or at least EA thinks so and would never back away from it) is also everything around. The 3d cut-scenes, the team, the plot, the experience of being the driver with the fame and all the sh&% around that. Most of this is completely unachievable in the current engine S397 has.
All the more reason to jump over to S397.

How good would an F1 game be with all that fluff replaced with a stunning driving/racing experience?

A boring, soulless slump of **** that would sink it even lower. Not saying that EA F1 is any better (its rock bottom) but I really want to see an F1 Race Stars 2.

Take all the studios both PC and console and all the FFB wheel makers, put them in a room for a year.

Between them they couldn't make a single profile for anything you could just use. :coffee:

I'd wish they would port it to the ps4 pro lol. My opinion vastly changed on gran turismo, I decided to borrow a ps4 pro to try it and was shocked to see how much they have closed the gap in regards to pc sims. That prompted me to buy a ps4 pro and sink over 130 hours on it It's actually brilliant in a ton more ways than alot of the PC sims. I must revisit again.

Also, love how once again another article gets derailed from the usual "reiza arcade scum, rfactor is best" proponents.. It's actually vomit inducing levels of cringe. Seriously if you are still telling people what to like and not like in 2024/5 then you need to chill and perhaps get some fresh air.

The continuous d*ck measuring to make yourself feel better about your cult like behaviors towards a 12 year old VIDEO GAME is worryingly sad at this point.

Eg****ingzactly this. WTH is with this derailment cultists tangent?!

The Gran Turismo 7 Sophy AI is unmatched. fact. Those who actively refuse to even race it for nonsensical and toxic absurd delusional egos/excuses need to seek help. The amount of effort put in to deny themselves the top tier experience is just bewildering. eyes wide shut at all costs is worse than dangerous.

Even the years old releases of Sophy make any other AI out there look like antiquities from last century.

Pushing the industry forward is critical. Denying reality with whataboutism and irrelevant tangents ensure things constantly are derailed and held back.

I really wish GT7 on PC, I had good days with GT4 on ps2.
Would be nice, I personally think it will never happen as long as they have mtxs in the game. Polyphony are probably trying to figure out ways to stop modders from exposing it's crooked system.. That roulette crap is so out of place and again preys on the vulnerable/stupid

The roulette enticing children into gambling must go!

I am a strong proponent to never have Gran Turismo on PC. To do so ruins games, Being able to highly optimize Gran Turismo for a single console architecture is immensely valuable to the end user, especially if quality and fidelity matter.

Having to deal with endless combos of pc hardware configs and many of them being substandard and poorly configured with numerous incompatibilities and getting a terrible experience ruins it entirely. With my own personal professional time developing motorsport sims, the amount of effort going into just making it work for edge cases or fixing endless bugs on these crap situations is a massive detriment. And in the end it's embarrassing.

Understanding why Gran Turismo runs at 4K at locked 120fps in the most glorious detail on a PS5 Pro with 250hz FFB with Fanatec, while other sims with a 4090 can't even come close should make it clear. The "theoretical" power is very rarely the actual outcome. It's why a highly tailored race car performs phenomenally on track and a 1500hp street car with the widest tires money can buy is still terribly slow and unwieldy. cherry picking and speculating and arm chair quarterbacking does not equal results. the dramatic difference just in nvidia and amd alone is infuriating as both a dev and consumer - but reality is the arbiter, not theoretical dreams.

Gran Turismo on PC would be akin to trying to make/force a Formula 1 car that seats 8, has a smooth ride on pothole laden disaster roads and gets 75 mpg.

It is better in every single way to just get a PS5 and GT7 and it stay there than to spend 4-8x as much on a PC and hope it comes there and still won't be able to match the PS5 quiality and refined fantastic experience. Dragging down everything to make it work on enough mainstream PCs to be viable and the endless resource cost to have it work on ever changing PC updates would significantly tarnish and ruin the experience.

And with used PS5s going for a few hundred bucks ( ~$325 - https://www.ebay.com/itm/305962367565?_skw=PS5+console&epid=25040975636 )

and 4090s going for over $2200 ( https://camelcamelcamel.com/product/B0CHGT834V )

And then as a racer, with the amount of time wasted constantly mucking with OS updates, driver installs, surveillance software, anti cheat breaking everything and getting good folks banned by the real cheaters ( vhttps://techcrunch.com/2024/11/07/hacker-says-they-banned-thousands-of-call-of-duty-gamers-by-abusing-anti-cheat-flaw/ )

- The console IS the way to ENJOY racing and maximize seat time with the highest fidelity and accuracy.

In a mere few seconds to go from powered off to racing against AI, or online, is worth 10x the price of GT7 and a PS5. No headaches, no wasted time, just nirvana.

PC would ruin all that and usurp so many resources just in a losing battle to prevent it from being a miserable frustrating experience for 95% of PCs and the tiny few with the latest bleeding edge would still likely have a lesser far from optimized result.

Thinking that it wouldn't have serious negative impacts for the brand and existing ~7+ million GT7 player base is truly burying head's in the sand. Too many think that misery is a part to endure for fun driving. It's not, and pretending that it is, is pushing so many away. The Spec 2 update alone doubled active players and it's been growing fast since. ( https://gamingbolt.com/gran-turismo-7-is-the-series-second-best-selling-game-in-the-us )

Just within the last 6 or so weeks there are ~187,900 active racers in the this online time trials ( https://www.gran-turismo.com/us/gt7/sportmode/event/10628/0/0/page/1879)
and the December Porsche Mission X time trial at ~153,300 ( https://www.gran-turismo.com/us/gt7/sportmode/event/11117/0/0/page/1533 )

iRacing estimates are less than 10% of that by active daily racers - https://mmostats.com/game/iracing

Now if there was proper race rules and accountability with banning in place for a Pro Sport Race mode in GT7, it would bigly disrupt alot. Casuals can enjoy the bumper cars and smashem ups, but additionally there needs to be a place where there is weight and consequence to actions. If a license can't be revoked, well then, that needs to be addressed.
