Calling all WRC fans, the officially-licenced game by Codemasters and EA SPORTS has its latest update rolling out today including the 2024 season updated line-up of drivers and teams as well as the new Rally Latvia and Poland courses.

There is plenty to look forward to if you are an avid EA SPORTS WRC, with today (8 October) marking the release of the 2024 Locations & Car Content Pack available individually or in a bundle with the base game.

Along with that, Codemasters has teased further content releasing later down the line. Here is everything you can expect in today's EA SPORTS WRC 2024 Season Expansion and over the next few months.

EA SPORTS WRC 24 Content

With the new season comes updated Ford Puma, Toyota GR Yaris and Hyundai i20 N cars with hybrid powertrains in the top Rally1 category. These are joined by the Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 in WRC2 and the Ford Fiesta Rally3 Evo in Junior WRC.

The 2024 Locations & Car Content Pack also brings two new courses. For the first time in five years, Poland is back on the WRC schedule with over 27 kilometres of track across twelve stages. These include shortened and reversed variants of its two main stages, all with multiple weather conditions, road surface changes and seasonal-specific changes.

The other new course for players to tackle is Rally Latvia, which first appeared in WRC this year. As with all locations, Rally Latvia features several kilometres of real roads, 12 individual stages, and all of the challenging terrain variety and weather conditions one comes to expect from EA SPORTS WRC.

Along with all this, there are 52 new liveries available for the cars as well as the updated driver and team line-up of course. For those who have not picked up EA SPORTS WRC yet, purchasing EA SPORTS WRC 24 contains the base game as well as the new content from today plus the two upcoming Content Packs, giving you everything in a single purchase.

The former will add Rally de Monte Carlo Briançonnet and Rally de Portugal Fafe stages, whilst the latter will add the Rally Sweden Umea and Umea Sprint stages as well as the Rally Greece Harvati.

So, if you bought the game when it came out you have to pay 60% of the game's price for the new content, but players who are getting into the game now can just pay the same price for the game and get it all?
Nice business practice there EA.

For me, the DLC apparently costs more than the base game. $49 for the base game, which I already have, and $54 for the DLC... Can't be right.

Edit: No, it's not right. It's $34, looked in the wrong place. Still a bit pricey, but more managable.

Whats more ridiculous is that I can buy the entire experience, game and DLC apparently, on Steam for 35€, since I have DR2.0 and I get a discount on the bundle.
So I can pay 30€ for the DLC and keep the game on the awful EA App or 35€ if I want to switch to Steam.

Or we can wait for a sale... It's pricey, no doubt, but so is beer.

I was about to buy it on last Steam sale 75% off but forgot, and now it's back to 49 Euros. And Steam CD keys are sold out everywhere. But the "DLC" is only included if purchased from today on, right?

EDIT:
Nice, looks like they removed the Dirt 2.0 bundle which would make EA WRC cost me only 35 Euros. Typical EA.

Oh, great. It just keeps getting better!

I don’t see why I should invest and pay for this DLC. It feels like a complete waste of money and time. After the update, my WRC now looks like Need for Speed Unbound with a cartoonish style. What's going on with you guys at EA? Are you seriously trolling us?

Is this anything new at all, regardless of dev and publisher?

20 dollars for what is essentially a livery pack and still no major fixes to problems that have been plaguing the game since launch, at this point you can't even argue codemasters was rushed, they're just lazy
