Hey everyone,

Just dropping a quick update on the latest tweaks to our car mod for the racing simulator. The main focus this time around has been improving the suspension physics to make the driving experience feel more authentic. I was using my own data and measurements. Even more precise measurements are in the todo list. Here's what's been done and what's coming up:

Completed so far:
  • Car geometry and basic vehicle parameters.
  • Engine curve based on various measurements.
  • DSG7 DQ200 gearbox.
  • Іteering, mirrors, headlight and brake lights.

What's updated in this iteration:
  • Overhauled the suspension to match real-life geometry.
  • Enabled body flex, but it needs extended physics to work properly.
  • No 3D model updates this time.

Next Steps:
  • Fine-tune the engine curve even more.
  • Add real engine sound.
  • Mimic the logic for the automatic gearbox.
  • Wheels fine tune.
  • Fine tune suspension.
  • Move to COSMIC suspension.
Also, I've been testing the current model extensively on the Nürburgring track. If any of you out there have experience driving a real Volkswagen Golf, I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback. The aim here is to create a tool that lets you feel like you're driving your own car in all kinds of conditions, whether it's rain or shine, on different tracks, and at different speeds.

If you're on board with what I'm trying to do here, consider supporting the project on Patreon. Your support keeps the wheels turning and helps make this mod even better.
Thanks for being part of this journey.

Cheers,
Zgshnk

P.S. Lap time is near 9:20.00. Which I think is a little bit too fast for this car. So It’s a lot of work to do.
