Telemetry Tool for AC 14.2

Login or Register an account to download this content
Version 14.2 is here.

Notable new additions:
  • Map in Circle format. I have seen something like this in real pitwall, so wanted to just add it to my Tool too.
  • Math Channels can be now used in Workspace
  • Fixed many restart and first lap related timing and other issues.
  • 64 for car support added also for PC2
  • DRIVING: Modified bit how tyre temperature coloring works
  • STATS - option to customize, what data is shown
  • Fixed issues + improved the Race History loading
  • Rewrote many multi-car tabular data views.
  • Alerts will now show correct units and values will be in correct units too
  • Performance updates + added option for FPS target. The Tool can now do easily 150-200 FPS, but for normal use the 20-30 FPS should be sufficient.
  • Many, many little tweaks and fixes
For list of changes, see the ReadMe.txt.

Updating from older versions: Just unzip .zip on top of your old installation. No need to update the plugins. There are some new trackmaps for AMS2 though.

Clean/New install. Unzip the files to anywhere in your system (e.g. under 'Program Files\Telemetry Tool' or to somewhere else). On the first run the Tool will ask location for data files (if necessary), so no need to edit the baseSettings.xml file anymore.

For install help, see the help at https://telemetrytool.com/install

The new version has been tested quite a bit, but there might still be something odd lurking around. If you find anything odd, please let me know.

Enjoy, and get faster.

Hello,

V13 with F1 23 support is out. You can get the new version from
https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/telemetry-tool-for-f1-23-and-many-other-games.61580/

Notable AC related changes are:
  • New TelemetryToolPlugin. Adds bit more data and should hopefully be the final version of the plugin.
  • Added option to 'invalidate' the lap, if the game reports track-cut. This is in 'Settings -> AC Settings'
  • Added first version of tyre type/color info into the relevant views.
  • Fixed issue, where on endurance races (120+ laps) the Delta would stop working. This was related to the fact, that originally there was no multi-car support for AC, thus there was no need to "adjust" the delta system. This fix also applies to R3E and rF2. In ACC it was already working.
  • New multi-car session history statistics shows many data, like laptimes averages (last 3, since pitstop, all valid laps etc), laps since pitstop etc. for all cars in the race
  • Fuel need estimate calculator, data is based on your laps completed on the selected car and stored by Telemetry Tool.
Notable new changes
  • Full F1 23 support
  • Changed lapdata and opponent file formats and added more data to the headers
  • Experimental TCP Forward support (to mitigate VPN related packet drop issues).
Normal install rules apply. Just unzip the whole packet on top of your existing installation.

Or you can do a clean install to a new directory. Then the Tool will ask for location of data files, so you can keep using your old data files.

In both cases, remember to update the TelemetryToolPlugin.

Enjoy, and get faster.

Version 12.4 is here.

Notable AC changes/fixes:
  • Updated Telemetry_Tool_Plugin. This has fixed the install issues with Content Manager + the potential conflicts with other plugins
  • Updated the relay. Made the it use local relay_settings.ini file, if it resides on the same directory with the relay .exe. This makes it easier to make portable install
  • Some fixes/additions to the UDP Forward F1 2020 mode data. E.g. with SF1000, correct number of cars should be shown, if there are more than 22 cars on track.
Other notable additions:
  • All relays have been updated
  • ACC: 1.9 + new DLC data added + the Valencia Track map + way to add tyre wear data from session
  • AMS2 Nords 1971 tracks + new car
  • rF2: new plugin with new data, also new trackmaps added to the extra track map pack
  • R3E: new versions data added
  • Workspace: Load and save buttons added for easier management of the workspaces
  • BLUE LAP lap has new option: Previous lap
See the ReadMe.txt for list of additions

Update

To update, you can just unzip the whole .zip on top of your existing installation.

For minimal update, just update the Telemetry.jar + the bin (all relays have new version) directory in the existing installation.

Also update the Telemetry Tool plugin.

New Install

If you are doing a new install, just unzip the package anywhere in your system (can be in \program files or e.g. \bin\telemetry_tool). On windows start the tool with runWin.bat and select the game mode. On first run the Tool will ask for the location of data files etc. and it will setup all things for you. The default settings should work well.

In order to use multi-car data, you have to install the Telemetry Tool Plugin from the bin\ac directory. See the readme in that directory on how to install the plugin.

If you use the Tool on Linux/Mac, check the ReadMe.txt for details on running the Tool on those platforms.

Enjoy, and get faster.

Version 12.3 is here.

It took much longer than expected to get this out.

Notable AC changes/fixes:
  • Added multiplayer/multicar data to the tool. RaceTiming, Race history, opponent laps etc. all work now with AC. This requires you to add the 'Telemetry Tool Plugin' to AC. You can either just unzip to the apps directory the 'Telemetry_Tool_plugin.zip' from the bin\ac directory. Or you can use the 'Mod Manager' to install the package. The plugin just reads the data and forwards them via UDP to localhost:10101, which the Telemetry Tool will also now listen.
  • The Tool now also saves laptimes + race history properly
  • Added setting to change opponent lap saving options
  • Made the tool to automatically detect, which data sources are available and adjust the operation
  • Added tab change options: ABS+, ABS-, BrakeBias+, BrakeBias-, TC+, TC- , . This changes the "tab" in main window
  • Modified quite many views to accomodate the multiplayer data
  • There are some simple additional trackmaps at https://telemetrytool.com/addons
Key new additions on this release:

  • STATISTICS TABLE GRAPHS: Added session long view, where you can see key tyre data for all laps in the session. Very handy e.g. for ACC to setup the tyre pressures.
  • AC multi-player support, i.e. data is now collected from all cars in the race, when you install the plugin. Also a lot of changes/fixes relating to multi-car data and other data. This works only on the PC version.
  • MAP: Added forward pit window (or you can also select any car in the race to show, where they would land after normal pitstop).
  • RACE INFO: Fixed some issues with fuel use calculations. It should now work better also at the start of the race.
  • RACE TIMING: You can now select any driver and show their laptimes from the race.
  • COMPARISON PANEL: You can now adjust the width of the data visual line. Makes easier to work with that data.
  • Fixed race history saving. It should now work well in all games even, if you just do one race and quit the tool.
  • RaceRoom Racing Experience support added
  • rFactor 2, new plugin, which should put less stress on the network connection + plenty of fixes/tweaks
  • AMS2: Added the new tracks + cars data
  • A lot of little tweaks/fixes here and there.
See the ReadMe.txt for the list of all additions/changes.

Update

To update, you can just unzip the whole .zip on top of your existing installation. For simple update, just update the Telemetry.jar in the existing installation.

For AC, you need to install to the AC plugin the included Telemetry_Tool_plugin.zip from the bin\ac_relay directory. You can use the Mod Manager or just unzip the plugin directly to <AC dir>\apps\python. The plugin is pretty simple, it forwards the data via UDP to the Telemetry Tool.

Also for new install, you need to install the Plugin into AC's apps\python directory.

If you use the Tool on Linux/Mac, check the ReadMe.txt for details on running the Tool on those platforms.

Enjoy and get faster.

Cheers.

New version 11.4 is here.

It took bit longer than anticipated to get it out of the door.

Notable new addition is rFactor 2 support. No AC specific fixes, except few tweaks here and there.

For update, just replace Telemetry.jar in your install from the .zip.

For new install, check the readme.txt. In short, just unzip and the run one of the .bat files.

Cheers
New version 11.3 is here.

Largest addition is the new 'Workspace'. In short this is like the Telemetry view, but you can save and load the set of traces. E.g. you can have different workspace for setup work, and another for driving inputs. There are also many new traces, e.g. wheel speed diff for sides or wheel locking indicator etc. For each trace there is now few options to adjust the view:
  • Basic: normal trace
  • Diff: blue vs. red trace (or with multilap blue vs each trace)
  • Smooth: smooth the trace along many data points (option varies from 1 to 33)
  • Derivative: calculate the derivate at that point. The slider varies for how long time the derivative is calculated (bit like smoothing)
  • %-change: How large % change (vs. 0 value) happened. Here the slider adjusts, for how many packets the chagne is calculated.
Notable other additions

F1 2021
- Added Imola and Jeddah trackmaps
- Added F2 2021 drivers + teams data

ACC
  • Fixed situation in race, where the lap is invalid, but it was not flagged as not valid
  • In statistics page changed tyre temp to tyre pressure. So now the statistics page will show the temps like this: "FL 27.3->27.6 : avg 27.4 | 95C" which means, the pressures ranged from 27.3 to 27.6, with average at 27.4, the average temperature was 95C. This makes it easier to decide what to do with the tyre pressures for the setup.
  • New Relay + added new fields in 1.8 shared memory to the tool
AMS2
  • Fixed Monza 10k trackmaps
  • Added new Racing USA trackmaps
  • Added v1.3 new car + car class data to the tool
  • Added full Nordschleiffe 24h track map to the tool.

Launcher
Added "reset UI" to the launcher. This will reset the main window position of the Tool. So if for some reason the window positions get corrupted, this can be used to reset those settings. This applies only to the selected game, when you press the 'LAUNCH' button.

General
  • Tried to fix a very random occurrence, where the fastest lap would be replaced with slower lap
  • Made the shortcuts, like CTRL-O work even if menu is not visible
  • Color saving now also saves the opacity
  • Many little tweaks

For update: Copy Telemetry.jar + the tracks directories content to your current installation + in the bin directory the contents of the ACC directory. The changes are in AMS2 and F1 and directories.

For new install: Check the ReadMe.txt for the installation instructions. In short, just unzip to somewhere on you system, either to 'Program files' or somewhere else. Now you don't need to anymore edit the baseSettings.xml, as the tool will create it automatically.

Enjoy, and get faster.

New version is here.

Notable changes:

F1 2021
  • Added Portimao trackmap
  • Raw data: Fixed the bug, where the data was always shown for the player and could not be changed
  • Potentially fixed issue, where data for new tracks would not be saved, i.e. make the current version work e.g. with Imola without the need for a new version of the Tool
AMS2
  • Added Monza release trackmaps
  • Added new cars data to the system
KartKraft
  • Added trackmap for Genk
Statistics table
  • Added wing setup data for games, which provide that data
Racenumber-name map
  • Fixed issue, where the TLA would just show race number, and not the TLA from the file
HTTP Server output
  • Fixed deltaToLeader in the json/aidata
  • Made JSON/tracks to output track list for the current game
+ Many little fixes and tweaks.

For update: Copy Telemetry.jar + the tracks directories content to your current installation. The changes are in AMS2, F1 and KartKraft directories.

For new install: Check the ReadMe.txt for the installation instructions. In short, just unzip to somewhere on you system, either to 'Program files' or somewhere else. Now you don't need to anymore edit the baseSettings.xml, as the tool will create it automatically.

Hello,

New version of my telemetry and race strategy tool is here. This is mainly a bug/stability/performance fix with few interesting additions.

What is new in version 11.1?

Notable additions

UDP Redirect
  • Fixed a very nasty random bug, which prevented the UDP redirect to work properly. This fix also improves the performance of the F1 2020 format redirect (ie. the TM SF1000 rim feed).
  • With the UDP Redirect F1 2020 format, the rev lights will blink, if the pit limiter is on.
  • Plenty of smaller fixes/tweaks to the redirect model. This should improve the performance in any game mode, most notably with ACC.
Map
  • Added option to show the map with as transparent background, so if you have only one screen, you could have the map still visible with e.g. the lines driven. See the images below. This does not work on Linux (yet)
Driving
  • Made tyre core temps to be more prominently displayed. Also moved things bit around
And many little tweaks/fixes.

Check the ReadMe.txt for detailed list of updates.

For update, update the Telemetry.jar + tracks\ams2 (if you use AMS2) + the .sh files (if you are on Linux/Mac).

For new install, check the ReadMe.txt file inside the .zip for details on how to install the Tool on Windows, Linux and/or Mac.

Enjoy, and get faster.

The Telemetry Tool updated to 10.6.

With this version I updated the JRE to version 15. So if you are updating, you need to
- update the bin directory (there is also for Linux and Mac a custom JRE binary included)
- update the lib directory
- update the Telemetry.jar + the .bat (windows) and .sh files (linux/mac)

Key new features
  • Added Statistics table, which will show much more driving statistics on per lap basis
  • Added Launcher, which you can use instead of the several per game .bat files. The runWin.bat (and runLinux.sh and runMac.sh) have been updated to start the launcher. You can still use the per game .bat files to start the Tool, if you prefer that.
  • Added to UDP forward option to send the data out in F1 2020 format for all supported games. You can use this e.g. with Thrustmaster SF1000 wheel to get data to the wheel's dash, or to send data to other dash, which supports F1 2020 format.
Other notable AC related updates/changes.
  • Fixed slowness when starting first time after adding new modded track/car
  • Added some new trackmaps of the tracks/mods, I use
  • Made small changes how added tracks/cars data is handled. There is now the "original track + cars lists" and the files for the added tracks and cars. Makes easier to handle new versions. The migration will done automatically by the tool, when you start the tool for the first time. You might also want to run the 'Tools' -> 'Manage DB data' --> 'Fix database' as some indices have been changed.
New users: In short, unzip the .zip to your system (e.g. to Program Files) or some other place. Then start the tool with one of the .bat files (on Windows) or .sh files (on Linux/Mac). The tool will the ask for location of the data etc. Check the ReadMe.txt for details.

Enjoy, and get faster.
10.5 is here.

Biggest addition is system to sync your laptimes + basic lap data to global database. When there is more data, I will add functionality to the Tool, which will allow you to compare your own times to the laptimes of other users of the Telemetry Tool. The tool will ask consent for sending the data, when you start it for the first time.

Notable AC related additions:
  • Fixed error, where fastest laps would not always be saved.
  • Fixed error, where lap with laptime 0 was inserted as first lap, when driving out of pits..

New general additions:
  • Multi-histogram view
  • Multi-XY-plotter view
  • New trackfile format, which is more compact + also loads faster.
  • Tyre pressures are now saved to lapdata files
  • Many little fixes and tweaks.
  • PgUp and PgDown work as zoom in all views (handy if there is no mouse scroller on the system)
I expect this to be last big update for the near future. I will be hunting + fixing odd bugs and working on making the backend bit more robust before next larger release.

For update, backup old installation, then unzip the .zip on top of the old installation. There are many new files in bin, lib and tracks directories.

For new installs, check the ReadMe.txt and/or the Youtube videos on how to install this.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Enjoy, and get faster.

New version is here.

Notable AC related and new additions
  • The tool now works correctly, if you only get data from the UDP feed, i.e. when getting data from consoles. When using only the UDP feed the track cannot be detected, so you need to choose the track from the tool.
  • Fixed AC related statistics, e.g. free roll etc.
  • Added Math Channels. You can define you own math channels and use the as traces in the Telemetry tab.
Check the ReadMe.txt for list of all changes.

For updating
  • replace Telemetry.jar
  • update the lib directory contents
For new users, read the ReadMe.txt for details on how to install this tool. You can also check my installation videos on YouTube.

Enjoy, and get faster.
