acti works really great but is quite abandoned for years. No offense for its author and many thanks to him!
telemetrick ever have some new channels like 'relative plank wear' introduced by csp, add some extra channels for some cars (read diff settings, live brake bias, etc from fa24), provide more options like folder/filename patterns. And last but not least, is entirely open code wise. So even if I don't play AC anymore and/or don't support this app anymore, any one can continue to enhance /fix it.
Like many I guess, firstly done for me to circumvent acti limitation. Like my son jumping in the rig and mix its telemetry with mine, here came the driver option idea lol! Or add some channels, etc. Then why not share it.
