====================================

A total internal vehicle audio modification, Quality real world audio, All 24 vehicles, internal engines, Damage, and secondary audio. Over 250 MB's of GTR horsepower!
====================================

IMPORTANT BACKUP INFORMATION :

====================================
Before extracting Sounds of GTR2 find where you have GTR2 installed the default location is "C:\GameData\Teams" Now "right click" with your mouse on the "Teams" folder and choose copy from the "drop down" list. Next we need to create a new folder named "Backup" anywhere you wish. You can do this by right clicking anywhere in the open field of folders and choosing New > Folder, from the drop down list. Name that folder "Backup" without the quotes. Now open up the Backup folder and "right click" inside it and choose "Paste" from the drop down list. You should now have a "Backup" folder with a "Teams" folder inside it. If you find you do not like Sounds of GTR2 you can use these files to return your game to default.

====================================

INSTALLATION:

====================================
Unzip Sounds of GTR2.b.0.7.6.zip using winrar, or 7zip : Place the the included "GameData" folder in "C:\GTR2" or where you have installed GTR2 and allow it to overwrite. If it does not ask you to allow GameData to overwrite the files are in the wrong place.

Sounds of GTR2 "will not" overwrite any of the original sounds. However it will overwrite "All .SFX files!" Located in the "Teams" folders. Creating a backup of the "Teams" folder will prevent the need to reinstall should you find Sounds of GTR2 beta.0.7.6 not to your liking.

This was no longer available anywhere and I happen to have a copy floating around. Thank you Race Department for hosting these community made files for download. I can not express enough gratitude to you guys and gals, for all you do!

Best Wishes,

PS: If there is any interest in running this audio pack. I'd love to hear your constructive feedback, rework and remaster this pack and give GTR2 a proper "in and out" aural upgrade.

I've heard worse than this mod, which is why I give it 3 stars. But wouldn't really recommend this. Having listened to lots of onboards of these amazing GT1 and GT2 beasts, I don't think this sound pack takes us any closer to reality than the original GTR2 sounds. Also, the GTR2 sounds are more consistent and well-polished, (even if somewhat unrealistic) which is ultimately more important to me.
I quite like these sounds as they feel more raw and rough, like a real engine. I think it's at least an improvement over the stock sounds. That said, I now realize there's a line between something you'd be happy to listen to for a whole race vs real engine sounds and sometimes more realistic engine sounds can become annoying after a while. Still, worth a download and I think still an improvement over the original sounds.
every sounds does have a poor mixing in car and are not constant. you do 60kph in the pits and the car is like going back and forth between 50 and 70kph… the low rpm sounds doesn't mix up at all with the high rpm sound. low rpm you have a pretty calm sound(unusual for a race engine) and suddenly, when you get to the mid-high rpm range, the sound starts to get louder and sound a bit more race like. but still, very very bad quality. it's usual for GTR2, but come on. even rFactor did a better quality sound with the exact same sound engine… some cars doesn't even sound like the real ones…
