Silverstone 1999 2019-06-07

I've never been a fan of the new Silverstone layout. The 90's version I grew with was far better - becketts, club and the fantastic Bridge corner, so here it is in all it's former glory.

This is how Assetto Corsa tracks would look if the game was released in 2005
Indeed, great layout, but the road mesh is too severe and undrivable in some places (especially Bridge corner). Grab the reworked version by qp10.
The track looks and feels ok but there could be some better textures for the grass. For some reason I got a very fast 50 second lap time in the F399, but it was probably a AC glitch as times seem fine now.
Too many corners and edges
The Track itself is good, but the elevation (hills) are too extreme. Sometimes it feels like that important points of orientation are missing, either on the track side or on track.
Visually excellent but as has been mentioned by others the bumps are too severe. In the F2002 mod, a car that used this layout, the car bottoms out so much through Bridge that it just spins every time. Setup of course can change that but having to raise ride height quite a lot.
Yes, yes..Yesssss

It'sd good that someone has made the effort to try to make silverstone 99, so for that alone it deserves 5 stars. However, I feel some textures are better than others, this I personally can cope with. I believe the last sector, basically bridge corner onwards is way too bumpy and the road surface is to zagged and is not a smooth incline, instead just lots of zagged inclines resulting in an unstable corner, make it bumpy by all means as that creates lots of challenge, like the exit of chapel. Other than that, much much better than the ACFL 2004 layout "ATTEMPT"
This 1999 track is a welcome addition to AC. Good job Gilles!
Very good job!!! So long time i seeking this configuration of Silverstone. ACFL have release they 2004 version, but with a lot of bugs, AI drivers just stay on pitlane. In your track is all ok) Keep going!)))

Old one was better, big thanks about this version! I can't understand why and how they can ruin classic race tracks, New Silverstone and current Hockenheim especially both are horrible tracks today. I start my sim career 1999 and I know many of these good old tracks, Imola is my favourite track without Tamburello shicanes etc...nowdays is hard to find old Imola layout even that every racing simulator "should" include all those original layouts also.
My favourite track has always been Silverstone now I don't know what version I like more. You've done a really great job on the track, thank you!

Just a couple of minor points: maybe you could move the pit boxes slightly to the right out of the fast lane into the slow lane, and for some reason the sectors are not registering for me in AC.

The only real problem I have with it is the bumps, the track is outrageously bumpy. Do you know wether this is realistic for 1999? If it is, maybe you could remove them in another (2008-2009) version with minimal actual changes to the track just some textures and the bumps for a more modern version of basically the same layout.
I'm sure it took you a lot of effort, but it's not on a par with the best tracks here. Looks and feels old. Some textures are nice though.
nice keep up the good work gilles

Agreed. Silverstone history conserved, thank you!
Very bumpy in some places but I only did a few laps in the 98T. Might just be bottoming out

I bottom out all the time on this track with the Ferrari 1991 F1 car.
What a treat Gilles. I've never liked Silverstone, but I do like this. Be sure to catch his new tracks coming out. Thanks buddy.
Great job. This layout is much better.

Agreed, I was massively dissappointed when they made the new layout and we lost the Bridge corner.
