Description

Here's my AI racing lines and hints for all layouts of the Shanghai International Circuit (shanghai_v2). I legitimately have a headache now. Most of the original lines were okay, but I tried to maximize their entries and exits to help improve their laps. I tried to take inspiration from real life lines too. Some of the sidelines have been tightened to prevent pit maneuvers, but it might still happen.

The most common problem were the pit entries; my god, the AI either becomes an unstoppable train or a lost child when it tries to stick to the pit line. So yeah, all that was fun to figure out for 4-5 layouts. :alien:

Extensions / Layouts:
Note: These AI lines may not work for future versions. If you are using shanghai (v1), you can see my lines here. :)

How to Install
  1. (Optional) Backup the existing AI files by renaming them with a .bak extension. (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\tracks\shanghai_v2\ai\ or \shanghai_v2\layout_name\ai\)
  2. Delete any pre-existing payloads.bin files in the "ai" folder.
  3. Go back one directory up and go into the "data" folder (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\tracks\shanghai_v2\data\ or \shanghai_v2\layout_name\data\).
  4. Rename the existing side_l.csv and side_r.csv with a ".bak" extension - this is to prevent AC from overwriting the pre-baked sidelines.
  5. Extract the contents of the .7zip file.
  6. Copy the "content" folder and paste it into your AC installation folder (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa).
  7. Replace files when requested.
You do not have to press Shift during loading - the sidelines I defined should already be baked into the .ai files. :)

Tested on:
CSP Version: 0.24-preview1
CSP > New AI Behaviour: Active
AI Strength: 94 - 100
AI Aggression : 15% - suggested value if you encounter unnecessary AI pit entry aggression

  • RSS Formula Hybrid 2023
  • VRC Formula Lithium 2023
  • Kunos Tatuus FA01

Let me know if you encounter any issues or want me to take a look at other tracks. Next up, I think I'll get a good long rest before attempting another AI line.
