This mod is now offered in an easy to understand and use folder structure. The newly structured folders for this mod and its many options goes as follows:
After you download and unzip this mod, version 1.1 (edit: is no longer available at the Version History tab, since all the same files for version 1.1 are included in the newer version 2.1 un-touched) resulting unzipped OSD_TRANSPARENCY_OPTIONS folder contains 3 folders (read the Readme file):
1 - BACKUP_FILES
2 - NO_STARTING_LIGHTS
3 - WITH_STARTING_LIGHTS (coming soon in version 2.0)
The 1 - BACKUP_FILES folder is obvious: It contains the game's original files within their respective folders under f12013.
The 2 - NO_STARTING_LIGHTS folder contains two folders:
A - INVISIBLE_QUICK_MENU
B - TRANSPARENT_QUICK_MENU_BKGND
The A - INVISIBLE_QUICK_MENU folder is self-describing and it contains two sub-folders of its own:
1 - TRANSPARENT_SWIPE_ BOX_BKGND
2 - VISIBLE_SWIPE_BOX_BKGND
Both of these two folders contain two folders with the same names:
A - FULL_REVS
B - REDUCED_REVS
So the proper way to use this mod is to choose which OSD options you want to install by navigating through this folder/sub-folder/sub-folder structure until you'll find what you'll feel most comfortable with.
For example, let's say you want the most transparent OSD layout possible, and the less distracting one, so you'll open the 2 - NO_STARTING_LIGHTS folder, then the A - INVISIBLE_QUICK_MENU folder (since you do know all your keypress/button sequences by heart after all this time using them: no need to actually see them displayed ever again) inside that folder, then the 1 - TRANSPARENT_SWIPE_BOX_BKGND, and finally, the REDUCED_REVS folder. Once you're there, you will see two folders named frontend and Osd, along with a screenshot image. In Windows, double-clicking that image will open it in the default program that opens .png files, so you can have a pretty good idea of how your screen will look like after you'll copy the frontend folder to your Steam/steamapps/common/f12013 folder. If you want to get rid of the flags and fastest-lap boxes, all you need to do at this point is to copy the Osd folder to your f12013 folder as well, but if you'd like to keep them in the game it's easy: don't copy the Osd folder.
To install the chosen package: Copy both the frontend and Osd folders to your f12013 folder.
To install the optional package: Copy the frontend folder only (not the Osd folder)
To restore the original OSD files, copy the corresponding frontend and Osd folders located in the 1 - BACKUP_FILES folder to your f12013 folder.
Enjoy!
