FYI: as soon as I get a new wheel base, I'll make an up to date video with the Lister in action. be patient
hi everyone
I present you an alternative of the RSS Tornado V12's sound wich is, for me, a better representation of the real Lister's sound.
this is what I tried to reproduce:
and this is what I actually did:
V2.0:
V1.2:
V1.0:
the hardest part was to get the correct sound distance to match the original RSS cars. I think that I can still get some improvements in that.
all sound files are taken from youtube. no content was stolen. I did the mistake one. I will not do it twice
update:
-overall volume has been tweaked. it suits more the volume of the other RSS cars.
-adjusted the volume of the transmission so you can hear it more in the cockpit.
-adjusted the external gear shift sound so there's no more a big thud with huge bass when you shift
-adjusted the brake sound to be more audible
update 2:
new external rear load samples. now, you hear the car shifting correctly and sounds more like the Lister in the Tiff Needle's video
update 3:
I've added some throttle trigger for the load samples(inside and outside, front and rear) to get a more reactive engine
2.0 overhaul:
-new back load samples (they sound like RSS samples but they are not RSS samples. they're my own research )
-new front load samples
-new internal load samples divided in 2 parts: 1st part is the main engine grumble. 2nd part is the exhaust sound heard from the inside. this should be what you hear when you're not limited to a microphone recording
-volume tweaking to get a correct volume shape and a correct sound change between the front and the rear
Final update:
Changelog:
-completely revamped interior on throttle sound thanks to this video that gave me a proper idea on how it sounds:
-tweaked interior off throttle sound
-changed the shape of the on throttle outside sound
-tweaked outside on throttle's echo
-tweaked sound fading accordingly to the exhaust displacement (loud on the sides, quieter on the rear)
-pitch reduced after multiple times watching the very few Lister Storm videos on youtube. now, it actually sounds like a 7.0L V12 instead of a 5.0L or a 5.5L V12 (the bigger the engine, the lower the pitch)
-massive volume improvement. now, if you drive any other RSS cars, you will still be able to hear the engine(the RSS 550 is a good example. that car sounds very quiet onboard)
