Grand Prix Karting Jeddah Corniche Circuit
The builders of the track did talk about a street circuit, but it is different from most street circuits in two respects. You often drive on a street circuit from intersection to intersection with dead straights and 90 degree bends. But in Jeddah no public roads are used, the circuit was built especially for F1. It's a series of rolling high-speed corners and medium-speed corners complemented by slow chicanes. Driving is also done under artificial light. All this makes Jeddah a very special track on the F1 calendar, and of course the GPK version has it all.
Tracklightning
This GPK Jeddah has working tracklights, so you can drive day and night with working day to night transition. With a 10 minutes race and racestart at 2:00 PM (14:00) set the time scale to 45 or 60 to get the lights on after 5 minutes.
Grand Prix Karting
Grand Prix Karting tracks are F1 tracks with the layout of the original F1 track but the size, look and feel of real world karttracks. No big runoff areas, but modern wide kerbs, pit not on the infield but on the outside of the track, and a pitbuilding which is also a grandstand. These tracks are not a resized conversion of existing tracks but scratch build. Not laser scanned (because they are fiction) but handmade, which was a bit of a challenge with some tracks with a lot of elevation in the track and the terrain surrounding the track.
The rFactor GPK tracks are dedicated for karting and the Assetto Corsa GPK tracks are dedicated for Formula Student.
