Grand Prix Karting Albert Park 2022
After not driving on it in F1 for two years, Albert Park was back on the F1 calendar in 2022 in a new layout. This is the rFactor Grand Prix Karting version of this new layout.
The first GPK track I have build for rFactor, the mother of all GPK tracks, was Albert Park. I have build it in 2020 to try if it was possible the create a karting version of a Formula One track which looks, feels and drives like a real live karting track. But, this first GPK track was never released in rFactor, because F1 did not drive on it in 2020 and 2021. The GPK Albert Park 2022 download comes with this original 2020 version.
Grand Prix Karting
Grand Prix Karting tracks are F1 tracks with the layout of the original F1 track but the size, look and feel of real world karttracks. No big runoff areas, but modern wide kerbs, pit not on the infield but on the outside of the track, not many grand stands but a pitbuilding which is also a grandstand. These tracks are not a resized conversion of existing tracks but scratch build. Not laser scanned (because they are fiction) but handmade, which was a bit of a challenge with some tracks with a lot of elevation in the track and the terrain surrounding the track.
rFactor Grand Prix Karting tracks are dedicated for karts and Assetto Corsa Grand Prix Karting tracks are dedicated for Formula Student.
