as for the Ascona B400 - exceptionally well made
original readme:
A Swedish "Group H" car again, very usual on the rally stages here. This one is driven by Per-Ola Chronwall.

Installation:
Notice: Physics are developed for the TT Real Mod 2005. Install that
first for best result. The Ascona B will work without it, but
might behave strange.
1. Place the file "car_xx.bzf" that came in this package into the
following folder on your computer: "...\Rally Trophy\Data\Cars"
2. Go directly to step 3 if you are using the TT Real Mod.
If you have chosen NOT to install the TT Real Mod the global torque
multiplier in your game will be set to 1.3 unless you have changed
it yourself. To restrict the car to realistic speeds with it set
to 1.3 you also need to install a little fix like this:
2.1 Rename "car_16.bzf" to "car_16_backup.bzf".
2.2 Rename "car_xx.bzf" to "car_16.bzf".
2.3 Download and install the LATEST VERSION of BZFManager available
here:
http://www.no-grip.net/filedisplay.php?filenr=119
http://www.no-grip.net
http://www.bhmotorsports.com/RT/downloads/735
2.4 Double-click on "asconab_v10_fix.rtp" and it will auto-install
itself.
2.5 Rename "car_16.bzf" back to "car_xx.bzf".
2.6 Rename "car_16_backup.bzf" back to "car_16.bzf".
3. Choose one of the cars (1-22) that you want to replace and either
delete it or rename it to "car_xx_backup.bzf" or similar. I recomend
just renaming as that makes it easy to restore things to how they
where before.
4. Rename "car_xx.bzf" to the exact name of the file you just deleted
or renamed in step 3.
Example: I want to install the Ascona B instead of car 10.
I place the file "car_xx.bzf" into "...\Rally Trophy\Data\Cars".
Then I rename "car_10.bzf" to "car_10_backup.bzf".
And finally I rename "car_xx.bzf" to "car_10.bzf".
5. Play the game!

History:
Another car that I like, but also have special feelings for. My dad has
one, although not prepared for rallying. And it`s very usual on rallies
in Sweden, and in Finland too from what I saw when visiting a rally there.
Also found a British team on the net having one, and the "400" version
of the car competed in world rallies in the Group B era in the beginning
of the 80`s, so it should be a well-known car for many rally fans.
I started this project knowing I wanted to raise the bar even higher
than I did with the Focus. I wanted a perfect model of this car so that I
hopefully can use it for other things than RT in the future. So, lots of
time has been spent on details and things that can`t be used in RT, but
most of it you can see in the game. In total, the model has about 18000
polygons.
For version 1.0 I scrapped the fictional paintsheme and made a car that
exist. It is the Ascona B driven by Per-Ola Chronwall in the swedish
group H 2WD. It is one of the fastest Asconas in the country and allways
spectacular to se in the forests. Per-Ola supplied me with pictures and
data of his car to make this as realistic as possible.

Versions:
vBeta (2004 07 18)
* First (limited) release for testing purposes
* Some textures are missing, no crash model yet, doesn`t work in rainy
stages due to a mistake in the making of rain models... I know what the
problem is. Physics in development, but only fine-tuning left.
v0.9 (2004 10 20)
* First official release
* Still some textures missing (engine, inside trunk, underside of hood
and trunk) and no crash or lo-detail model have been made.
* Using same sounds as Volvo 242 at the moment. Real opel sounds might be
recorded later.
* Rain models fixed so the car works on all stages.
* Small changes in physics.
v1.0 (2005 11 11)
* New physics to be fully compatible with the TT Real Mod.
* Setup now allows changing the gearbox in a realistic way. I have used
settings that represents changing the final drive ratio, wich can be
done on the real car, maybe not on a 20-minute mid-rally service but
between one rally and a nother. (5.43 - 5.28 - 5.13 - 5.00 - 4.87)
* Changes in 3D model including new wheels and interior.
* Crash model finished.
* Missing textures in previous versions are now in place.
* All new paintsheme.
* Refined in-car windscreen textures.
* Known bug: The window nets can seem to go through the glass sometimes.
I think this has to to with the way Rally Trophy handles transparent
textures so I`m afraid I can not fix this. But as I see it, it`s not a
big problem either.

Driving tips:
This car is equipped with a shift light in the interior view. Try to
change up just before the first light lit up. The second light tells you
that the engine has reached its maximum revs.
