For quite a while now I've enjoyed Assetto Corsa and it's many varied and amazing mods. Similarly I've come to enjoy occasionally playing around with bits of graphic design.(Although just for fun, and I certainly wouldn't say I'm great at it)
With that being so, after a good while playing, I came across the great mod for the F2002 Ferrari. However I noticed a lack of alternate skins for events where tobacco advertising was banned. So having searched around and having not found anything, I decided perhaps I ought to try making some of my own.
I must admit I never thought I'd be someone who ever submitted mod resources for others to use... Yet here we are.
These are my first public efforts at coming up with designs for a car, so I hope it was worth my time in sharing with you all. Most importantly I hope if you've been looking for something like this, it's worth your time in downloading.
Full credit for the original skins I based my designs off of in this instance must go to Kedy89 who was responsible for the original Renault and Jordan skins.
What's in the download:
You'll find a completed non-tobacco skin for the 2002 Jordan, as well as a small few optional extras which you can choose to either use or not use for that skin.
A completed non-tobacco skin for the 2002 Renault, including the helmets.
A slightly readjusted version of the original tobacco skin for the Renault, with the darkest blue on the air box being brought further down to be more accurate to it's real life counterpart.
Known accuracy issues:
Jordan should have both Be On Edge/Benson&Hedges logos on visor - I've included optional files for them, but helmets aren't really a strong suit, so they're not acceptable enough to be included by default. As they're a touch inaccurate with placement.
Giancarlo Fisichella, used a partially different colour scheme on his helmet for some races. - File included if you'd prefer to use it
Takuma Sato's helmet colour was more of a sky blue for some parts in real life. Something I'd love to fix, but don't quite have the skill for with this particular helmet.
Jordan should have Deutche Post logo at bottom of visor. Again, lack of talents on my part, meant I couldn't easily find a way to create this in a way that works when loaded into the game.
Renault may have some perspective issues with word logo placements. I've really poured a lot of heart into trying to get them correct for the non-tobacco skin, but between the limits of my own abilities, the mesh for the car being tricky to work with, and the real life Renault having a different body shape, it may fall a bit below the mark for accuracy.
Potential future skins:
BAR Honda: USA + Non-tobacco (Good progress made)
McLaren Mercedes minor update + Non-Tobacco (Early development/tests)
