It's in the description but if you're new to AC it might not have enough detail, first make sure the car you want to use has it's data unpacked (car folder should have a subfolder simply called "data") and if there is a file called "data.acd" in the folder then rename that to "data.acd.backup" or something similar IF THERE IS A DATA SUBFOLDER. Then simply open the folder for whichever shot of nitrous you want to use within the NOS Add-On download and drop both of those files into the "data" subfolder of the car folder and then you'll be able to use the KERS button for a shot of Nitrous. Feel free to DM me or message the discussion page if you still have questions!
To use the KERS/NOS? Regardless of if you're using CM or Vanilla AC go to settings/controls and assign "KERS Activation" to whichever button you want to use, hope this helps!
I'm using this mod on my Fast and Furious server to add a little more movie like action. I changed the required braking and just removed the old kers files in each cars data pack. Love it, thank you!
I've installed the mod but it doesn't work and on all the cars, I've linked the key but it doesn't work either, there's no data.acd but just a data folder into which I've dragged the mod.
Did you make sure to pick which "size" you wanted? Each "shot" indicates roughly how much horsepower is added, you can't just drag and drop all of them. I also did not test with any cars with existing KERS, so that might cause issues. If it's still not working shoot me a PM with what mod you're trying and I'll do what I can to help!
First thanks for the review and feedback, that’s very strange! I’ve tried it in both drag races and circuit races before publishing and it worked so I promise it’s possible! Do you happen to have any LUA scripts or anything else running like RARE to simulate certain race rules? Which tracks have you tried it on? Send a message in the discussion or PM me but we’ll figure this out, half the fun is hitting the nitrous and see the other car fall behind you!
It takes a little knowledge of how AC physics works but essentially you first make sure the car you want to use has a data folder instead of a data.acd file, then drop whichever "shot" of nitrous you want to use in the data folder. If it asks to overwrite then DON'T, as the car already has a KERS system which this uses to simulate the use of nitrous. Assuming your car doesn't already have a KERS system then the next time you're on track you can use whatever button you have bound to "KERS" to give yourself a quick nitrous boost. It's not necessarily realistic and hopefully this helps but if you have more questions send them over in the discussions tab!
