Introducing Driver 1955!
Tired of seeing your 1950s cars being driven by drivers from 10 years in the future? I know I was. I tried using the "pudding" driver, but that was a pretty outdated model, and it was almost impossible to skin the helmet. So I decided it was time for something new. And now I'm really, really excited to share it with you!
Driver 1955 features:
- and old-school open-face helmet with a bit of wear and tear on it
- leather, metal, and glass goggles
- canvas and leather earflaps and straps with shiny buckles and rivets
Included in the download:
- Driver model with basic white helmet and default coveralls and gloves
- 4k base skin for the helmet
- Wireframe and AO files to help in making your own skins
- Instructions for 3 methods to replace drivers, with all the necessary .ini files*
*EDIT: It appears I made a slight mistake in my instructions for method #3. You actually need to put Content Manager into developer mode to extract the data folder. To do so, go to "About" in CM, then double-click on the version number about 10 times.
You should be able to install this easily with Content Manager. If you want to do it by hand, just unzip the file and copy/paste the Driver_1955.kn5 file into your Assetto Corsa\content\driver folder. Then follow the instructions for replacing the driver in the car of your choice.
I hope you all dig this as much as I do!
