Hi
A skin I've made for a wholeMaserati MC20 GT2 private championship.
As usual, I like to tell how things came from different source of inspirations. Here they are :
Toca 2 Touring Cars. My first video game ever. The colour scheme blue (marine)-white-grey was mainly inspired by Volvo S40 & Ford Mondeo.
Q8 Formula => used on the Volvo, and logo is really nice
Auto Trader => global BTCC sponsor back in the days. Used the modern (and decent looking) logo to make the livery looking more realistic.
Race number 33 => Three reasons. First, GT2 digit font is ugly as heck so I looked for the best looking number. Second, was number Will Hoy with Ford in BTCC. Third, might not be the most racing-related, it's the Christ's age during His Passion.
I wanted to apply sponsors on mirrors, are I don't see them often here on ACC, and as they were some on the S40/Mondeo.
At last, I wanted to recall the car model on the side like the BTCC Mondeo did.
F355 Challenge. One of my favorite racing game on my favorite consoles (Sega Dreamcast). Diavia, Speedline, Magnetti Marelli, OMP, Saima Avandero are all rendered on the driver's car livery in the game. I discarded Bieffe, which is present in the original game, as company seems to have folded back in 2004. I didn't used Sega-AM2 as it would have come from nowhere on the present livery. Didn't used Shell as I decided to go for Q8 first. I prefered the present Pirelli yellow sticker style logo instead of simple white logo used in the game.
Koreabooism. I'm just one
SK/SK Hynix => major chaebol (Korean conglomerate). SK Hynix is a subsidiary dedicated to memory (i.e. RAM, SSD) manufacturing. A slight reason to use both is one is more square (SK) and the other more rectangular (SK Hynix). Similar sponsor to different situations.
Coupang => South Korean local equivalent to Amazon (the latter being not operating in the country). A kind of bizarre brown lettering but yet colourful in the end.
Roof flag => took me a whole freakin' sunday afternoon to merge a South Korean and a checkered flag in a faded way. It came unintendedly greyish but it goes well with the livery, making a slight and discrete demarcation with white.
Others
Maserati shield => Maserati logo (standing oval/egg) reminds me of Italian football clubs AC Milan and Juventus (until 2017). Sometimes Italian broadcasters tilt calcio logos, it looks funny and dynamic. Italian inspiration for Italian car maker looks good to me !!
3M => there is a marine and silver earplugs dispenser where I work. Actually it inspired my earlier than the BTCC S40/Mondeo for the colour scheme presently used.
Endless => At the time I often raced with the BMW M2, I love the Endless livery. Love the name and the logo, thus it features prominently on the upper rear fenders.
On a more general aspect, I tried to place sponsors just asymmetrically as it should have be, to avoid boringness and put some dynamism.
Enjoy
