Hello everyone! Decided to try my hand at making a helmet for Assetto Corsa as opposed to a livery this time!
Here we have the infamous Jimmy Broadbent's 2022 Britcar Helmet! Jimmy has such an awesome design which seems to have taken some inspiration & design aspects from the likes of Stefan Bellof, Eddie Irvine and James Hunt. Quite a simple design in retrospect but definitely one of the most recognisable & iconic designs!
This helmet skin is designed to be used with the ACSPRH Mod by Marco17_ok, which follows jvinu2000's helmet templates. (specifically the Bell helmet with the wing) Be sure to check out their work on their respective pages!
Huge shout out to NixNut here on RaceDepartment who created Jimmy's previous design for the ACSPRH Mod & inspired me to have a crack at his most recent lid! Be sure to download his mod and give it a run for yourself from the link above!
Finally, I'd just like to say my skills on the side of making helmets is still rather limited, so some element may be a bit off scale or low-res for the time being! If Jimmy or anyone else happens to see this & can send me a few more high-res images of the text, logos etc. then I'll be sure to update this lid going forward!
EDIT: Thank you Jimmy for the high-res images of your lid! If you do go on to download this, I hope you like it! Good luck for the forthcoming season!
Here's a short preview of the helmet in CM Showroom:
Installation:
(You'll need the ACSPRH Mod installed for this to work)
To install, first download the zip folder containing the files; "Helmet_2019.dds" and "ext_config.ini". Once this has been completed, copy these files into your desired skin folder. This will look something like this:
?:\steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\cars\ks_praga_r1\skins\goldie_87\(paste here)/
Replace any files that explorer tells you and voila! You should now be able to use Jimmy's helmet in Assetto Corsa!
Thanks for taking the time to view this mod!
