James' Better Filters for Assetto Corsa allows you to search easily for your favourite cars. No fuss, no scrambling. Just open up Content Manager and start looking.
Using Content Manager's custom category system, JBF allows you to add tags to cars based on the series they appear in, what spec of car they are, and more. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3.
How do I install JBF?
- Install the attached .zip file by pressing the 'Download' button on RaceDepartment.
- Once that's finished, unzip the archive and copy the folder(s) in the archive (they will be named like 'Car Categories' , 'Track Categories' etc.). You can do this with either Ctrl+C or by right-clicking on the folder and clicking 'Copy'.
- Navigate to your AppData folder - which will be in C:/Users/your username/AppData. The folder may be hidden, so you will need to enable hidden files first before continuing.
- You can also get to the AppData folder by pressing Win+R on your keyboard and typing in %appdata% in the Run prompt.
- Open the AppData folder and navigate to Local, and then to AcTools Content Manager. This is where the data Content Manager uses is stored.
- Once you're there, do not go into the 'Data' folder. Instead, navigate to the 'Data (User)' folder. Now, you can paste the folders into this folder.
- Viola! JBF has now been installed! You can open Content Manager and go into the car selection screen and move to 'Categories', where you will be presented with all the filters you could ask for.
What filters are there?
For now, JBF only has a select few filters for some of the most popular racing series. However, as time goes on, more filters will be added based on what the community wants. Below is a complete list of all filters in JBF as of v1.0:
- Formula 1/2/3 (#JBF-F1 / #JBF-F2 / #JBF-F3)
- LMP1/2/3 (#JBF-P1 / #JBF-P2 / #JBF-P3)
- Rally1/2 (#JBF-RA1 / #JBF-RA2)
- GT (Grand Touring) (#JBF-GT)
- TC (Touring Car) (#JBF-TC)
