Description

Here's my AI racing lines and hints for the Indy Speedway! Tagline aside, its been a painful journey. The main issue I wanted to address was how the AI filters out of the last corner to pit, and how it merges back out, but its been impossible to ensure it happens cleanly.

Track: aa_ims (by 13x)

  • I've not tried with asrl_indy_v2 - I understand its an update of 13x's track by the ASRL league. If anyone's part of that community, hope you can enlighten me on the changelog. :)
The AI cars might cross lines as the car entering the pits will go full speed regardless of obstacle, pushing into the inside car like an unstoppable train :cry:

So I shortened the AI pit entry line and made them hug the inside to try to help the AI navigate better. My advice? Don't overtake on the inside of the last corner if you know they're about to pit :D

Pit exit has been adjusted to merge at full speed, but cars on the racing line might also not know to give way to the exiting car. So expect crashes :thumbsup: It's less of an issue for Indycar, more for NASCAR.

How to Install
  1. (Optional) Backup the existing AI files by renaming them with a .bak extension. (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\tracks\aa_ims\indy500\ai\)
  2. Delete any pre-existing payload.bin files in the "ai" folder.
  3. Go back one directory up and go into the "data" folder (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\tracks\aa_ims\indy500\data).
  4. Rename the existing side_l.csv and side_r.csv with a ".bak" extension - this is to prevent AC from overwriting the pre-baked sidelines.
  5. Extract the contents of the .7zip file.
  6. Copy the "content" folder and paste it into your AC installation folder (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa).
  7. Replace files when requested.
You do not have to press Shift during loading - the sidelines I defined should already be baked into the .ai files. :)

CSP Version: 0.24-preview1
CSP > New AI Behaviour: Active
AI Strength: 94 - 100
AI Aggression : 15 - 50%
