This I found on the Classic Motorsport Hub after being tipped by Gulag_Express, which is also where I found the original Aurora AFX mod.

This track has the small flat non-banked pieces of tarmac (called the 'apron') on the inside which was a staple of the Indy 500 before they were abolished after 1992 when they were blamed for causing the imfamous crash between Emerson Fittipaldi and Al Unser Jr and several other scary crashes.

This track has also been updated to the RFE weather plugin for the people who really want to do Indy in a bloody monsoon, and also lacks a pit-lane speed limit.

RFE_Sky.MAS won't load to memory or something like that.
the apron was removed because it led to many many crashes and a fatality (marcelo) during the 1992 Indy 500. That is why the track was reconfigured for 1993.

Thanks for the info! I thought it was removed after 1989 but apparently not.
