GRAND PRIX 1937 V 1.0

Felt obliged to leave a review as the other review is so negative. This mod is really good, one of my absolute favourites for rFactor. Although the mod is certainly missing a more complete grid, the 3 Grand Prix class cars and 2 1500cc cars are enough to have a lot of fun with. The Mercedes and Auto Union are 2 of the most insane Grand Prix cars to ever exist, so much power and such high speeds for the time, all 3 Grand Prix class cars require a totally different approach to drive them fast. 4 wheel drifting is the name of the game here! So much torque, even in the lower rev range, the Auto Union is still spinning its wheels at over 250kmh! I've done races in all 5 cars, with the Merc being my favourite to drive (and arguably the hardest), these cars are best paired up with the brilliant Spa 58 mod, or Brooklands. Lots of wheelspin and lots of bouncing around, getting them up to top speed feels like a genuine achievement. The drivers from this period were incredibly brave!

Unfortunately, this appears to be either a 'beta' or 'unfinished' mod........and/or else it is an extraordinarily 'flawed' mod that didn't function sufficiently on my PC.

The "jazzy" menu music for this mod is fitting for the time period of 1937 and authentic -a nice touch.

The exterior of these vehicles also looks very realistic. The interior cockpit doesn't have a functioning or legible speedometer, but otherwise it looks accurate and good.

I was pretty much unable to drive these cars.......and they are also extraordinarily fragile: Every time I started up the engine and exited from my pit stall, the car would severely 'yaw' to the right. As a result, it was impossible to drive the car in a straight line...I was constantly doing 'brodies' in a clockwise direction. After 10-20 seconds of driving the car from a stand-still position......the engine also died or caught on fire (exploded) every time.

I have downloaded and installed many other rfactor car mods and only on one other occasion has another mod also been flawed like this one is (engine dying or exploding after 10-20 seconds).
