After getting the brilliant "GPL-MOD 1967" and getting hooked on classic F1, I went looking for a career mod that mimicked the '67 GP season, but couldn't find any.
Perhaps not a sought after thing in the Assetto Corsa community, but I sat down and made my own career GP for it, and I thought I might as well share it for anyone who might be in the same boat as me.
Links to all the tracks needed for this are in the included instructions.
You'll be driving the Lotus 49.
Mosport Park is only available as a modern version, so I've not included it, and for the French Gran Prix I've swapped out the "Le Mans Bugatti" track for the "Circuit de la Sarthe", since the former wasn't available, and it was rather disliked by both drivers and fans at the time, and drivers were reportedly more keen to drive on the latter.
The "Sandvoerde" track is the only track required that's payware ($5), the rest are free.
All races are at a 10% lap count compared to the real GP, and rounded up in case of laps that don't divide evenly with 10. If people find this lap count is too low, let me know, and I'll change it, or update it to include various lengths.
Each track has a practice session and a 15 min. qualifying session.
For the longer tracks, this might mean you only have one or two shots to get a good qualifying lap in.
It comes in two versions; one with 16 AI opponents, and one with 10.
16 opponents might become slightly chaotic on tighter tracks like Monaco, but it only makes sense that a handful of cars don't finish the race. It's 60's F1 after all.
This mod also comes with AI tweaks for Monaco and Spa, since those had consistent issues with the AI crashing at specific spots.
I know there are some areas that could use some polish (the individual GP descriptions aren't very creative, perhaps some could have slightly better pictures), but the structure is there, and I've enjoyed playing around with it.
Please let me know if you notice any bugs or glaring mistakes, or if you have suggestions for improvements.
Enjoy!
Massive thanks and credit to all the mod makers that created the GPL mod and the brilliant track recreations.
