The Formula Gran Turismo is an iconic car, even though it isn't actually real. It debuted in Gran Turismo 4, arguably one of the best Gran Turismo games in the series - maybe one of the best racing games of all time. To get it, you had to complete one of the most grueling races in the game - the Nurburgring 24 Hours Endurance race. Alternatively, you could achieve 100% in the game to earn the Stealth version of the car.
It made subsequent appearances in GT5, GT6 and the PSP version of Gran Turismo.
Now, it makes a true appearance in Assetto Corsa. With the collection of liveries, sounds and config files, you can convert the VRC McLaren MP4-20 into this breathtaking machine.
This download includes:
- a data folder with updated torque and power to better reflect the Formula Gran Turismo (author: me).
- Bridgestone tyres for all 4 compounds (author: unknown, but it's not me).
- 7 recreations of Formula Gran Turismo liveries from the Gran Turismo games (author: @SanokMaynik).
- An ear-piercing sound modification that better reflects the power of the Formula Gran Turismo (author: @Violaseven).
This download does NOT include:
- The car itself. You can find that here (author: Virtual Racing Cars).
- A steering wheel replacement. I'm working on that part... sort of. It'll be added soon(tm).
Installation:
Unzip the file and copy the 'extension' and 'content' folders into the root of your Assetto Corsa installation. I'm not sure if dropping the files/.zip into Content Manager works, but I recommend installing it manually anyways.
I do not own the rights to the VRC McLaren MP4-20 model or any of the assets used within the car, nor do I own the assets used. Credits are within the Credits.txt file and this thread.
