Second entry on the Black Beauty/Ford/Shell "What if..." liveries, this time, on the Ford Escort Cosworth Gr. A, driven by Gwyndaf Evans.
This car would serve as both a British Rally Championship and European Rally Championship machine. The election of Gwyndaf Evans and Howard Davies as the crew behind the car is given by the fact that Gwyndaf was close to Ford since the 1980s, and in 1993 he drove the Shell sponsored Escort Cosworth Group N on the British Rally Championship.
In 1994 Evans appeared very briefely at the end of the season driving the F2 Escort RS2000, and as he wasn't knew to driving the Ford Escort, it would have made sense to get him to drive the car. Also, this time around, Shell and Ford wouldn't just want to clinch the British tittle, but to take part on the European Rally Championship.
So what will you find in the download? Firts, the British Rally Championship version, based on the Stena Sealink Ulster Rally from 1994, and also the European Rally Championship, based on the Rally El Corte Ingles, also from 1994.
Both versions have event specific stickers. The British Rally Championship version have period correct championship sponsorship, while the ERC version have some color variations on some sponsors, and a Ford Motorsport sticker was added. Both versions have gold rims, only for tarmac events, as per Vatanen's Mk2 Escort.
