This is an optional upgrade for the die hard TR fans with full setup optionality and other enhancements to the 512TR S1 which can be found here:

https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/nfs-tournament-class-a.16905/

Following the development of the S1 package I spent another 1000km+ perfecting the suspension setup, researching era specific engine enhancements and creating gearbox and final drive ratios as well as fine tuning all components to 'play well' together.

This package adds the 512TR Super Sportiva.

Thanks to @A3DR and @aphidgod for creating this beauty in the first place and for giving me the opportunity to provide the S1 version as part of the NFS package! Rock on!

Installation:

Unpack the contents of this package to your \assettocorsa\content\cars folder

Copy and paste the contents of the ...\a3dr_ferrari_512tr folder into the newly created ...\a3dr_ferrari_512tr_ss folder and DO NOT replace any of the files when prompted

Optionally copy and paste the S1 skins into the SS skins folder to get the special colors.

Details:

The 512 TR Super Sportiva is an attempt at creating the ultimate vintage Ferrari track experience.

It is equipped with a highly modified 512 TR engine with electronic fuel injection by Motec and programmable Motec racing engine management. Ported and matched heads, slightly hotter cams as well as a special intake manifold and a compression ratio of 11:1 generate 552hp at the crank and a peakier torque curve shifting maximum power to around 5900rpm and creating a noticable step at 5000rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

A Brembo carbon ceramic high performance braking system has been fitted to deal with the added power output. Suspension springs, dampers and bearings are fully adjustable and play their part in creating a satisfying on-track experience. The modifications result in a minor weight increase by 5kg and slightly higher fuel consumption. Engine idle level has been raised to 1050rpm resulting from the slightly sharper valve train actuation. Power transmission is handled by a customized limited slip differential with a 3.73 final ratio.

The car eclipses the 1000m mark from a standing start in 21.3 seconds at 265km/h and reaches a top speed of 359km/h while the 0-100km/h time is reduced substantially to 3.8 seconds.

Overall the 512 TR Super Sportiva represents the definitive Testarossa experience aimed at the performance oriented driver by making the most out of the stock product.

Comments:

Gearbox:

To switch between gearboxes simply navigate to the Gears tab in the setup and choose your preferred setting.

With the 6-speed top speed is achieved in 6th gear and requires at least a 3.73 final drive setting.

Suspension/Differential:

I recommend leaving it as is. It's set up for optimum balance.

The diff settings make all the difference here. Decreasing the values make it much more tailhappy.

Engine:

The engine values are based on an existing engine built by:

Carobu Engineering • Ferrari Retro Tuning and Restoration

ENJOY and whatever you do think twice before applying full throttle in this car in any gear :)!

This reminds me of the anecdote of how the soccer player Diego Armando Maradona had 2 black Ferraris, a black F40 and a black Testarossa, as some may know at that time, Ferraris did not come in any color other than red, so Maradona's representative , Guillermo Cóppola, traveled to the Ferrari factory to speak with the president of Ferrari, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo Guillermo asked for a meeting with Mr. Enzo, and told him that Diego wanted a black testarossa, and when he said the words black testarossa, Don Enzo said: nera? IL NERA DOESN'T EXIST, and Guillermo tells him, but Diego wants it black, there enzo says: Diego vuole nera? there enzo spoke with the engineers and the original price was 470 thousand dollars later enzo said: 870 MILA DOLLARI, but the second later he says: no, 870 no, 1 MILIONE DI DOLLARI, there guillermo and enzo discuss the price guillermo says: NO, THERE WERE 870 and enzo tells him: 130 vernice nera, they bought it, took it to argentina, and diego jumps on his head excited to see such a machine and kept saying what a beautiful machine guille what a beautiful car, but he realizes something, diego tells him: it doesn't have a stereo... IT DOESN'T HAVE A STEREO? Guillermo tells him, Diego, the car IS FOR RACES YOU ARE NOT LISTENING TO RICKY MARTIN TO DRIVE RACES.

Much appreciated, that is all I could ask for when putting this together. Glad you're enjoying it.
Hello,
Thanks for this uptade which seems really good.
I am impatient to try it !
In your presentation, you say: " Decreasing the values make it much more tailhappy. " With my poor english, I can't translate " tailhappy"...So, what does that mean ?
Thanks for your help !

Yes, reducing both values (diff power and coast) creates a higher tendency to oversteer. I wouldn't go below 25% on the diff though given the power output of the engine.
Not so easy to tame, at least for a mediocre driver (aka me). But lots of satisfaction when done right - I hope this is not your last effort. Maybe try to make some performance version of Viper?

Thank you!! "But lots of satisfaction when done right." This is what I was aiming for. It's why I love driving 911s and Corvettes and the Testarossa also has an instability factor (high-mount mid engine layout) which is simply awesome when you throw it into a corner and it goes your way. Glad you enjoy! I got some requests regarding the Viper - I'll look into that!
My godness!
I ran a simply fast lap in Barcelona with the standard S1, and then "mounting" the SS pack.
I went 4 sec below the first try!
Wow! :)

It's what happens when a good shop rebuilds and optimizes an old Ferrari engine. Glad you like it!
It is a beast:) Thank you.

The suspension is optimized for stability under dynamic load changes while minimizing the stock tendency to break away when letting off the gas when entering a corner. That said it has a 2.72 power to weight ratio so yeah...beasty. Glad you're enjoying it.
Nice engine setup!
My only gripe is not your fault: The S1 suspension mods make the car way too twitchy. I like the stock 512TR suspension more!

Thanks for trying it out and glad you like the Carobu engine. I’ll provide some setups for different drive no styles including a stock suspension variant. Then you can enjoy the engine in the stock car :)
