What is it:
Is the speedometer used in F1TV since 2020. Dimensions are the same used by the YouTube channel Juzh123 in his videos, which I used as a reference. This app is meant to be used on 1080p displays. I don’t know how it could work on bigger or smaller screen resolutions.
Preview:
(as I will explain it later, I had to manually add the DRS label in the video editing because it doesn’t work during replays)
What are the 2 versions:
The “On-off” version uses the on-off way to display the brake inputs used by Formula 1.
The “Progressive” version displays the brake inputs like the AC Pedal App does.
What’s inside the Resolutions folder:
There you will find 5 folders. In each there is the file needed to change the size of the app. As this app was made for 1080p, choosing a larger size means that the app will be up-scaled, resulting slightly pixelated. To install a different size, open the folder of the size you want, choose between the on-off and the progressive brake version according to the version you are already using, and copy-paste the app folder contained in it into your assettocorsa folder.
How to install:
1. Open the zip file and choose one between the on-off and the progressive brake version.
2. Copy-paste the content and the app folders of the version you choose into your assettocorsa folder.
3. Start Assetto Corsa go to Options > General > UI Modules and activate the f12020hud app.
Needs some refinements:
It’s the first app I made for Assetto Corsa and all that I know I learned it by studying other apps made by other people like Akos Fodi (I really love his F1 2011 and F1 2016 apps). There are still some problems I’d like to be fixed but I don’t know how to do. The one that annoys me the most is the fact that the DRS label is not displayed in replays. Other minor problems are the leading zeros displayed when RPMs have less than 5 numbers and the fact that the real speedometer have some sort of transition between the gear number when upshifting.
If you have more experience than me with python and know how to resolve some of these, please tell me in the Discussion page.
