The 1991 DTM season was one of the most fascinating and dramatic in the history of the touring car championship. This season produced some of the most legendary cars that competed against each other in thrilling races. The Audi V8 quattro DTM Evolution was at the heart of this season, dominating the field with its powerful V8 engine and innovative all-wheel drive. The Audi's superiority was particularly evident in difficult track conditions, where the all-wheel drive and the enormous power of the V8 were an unbeatable combination. This car set new standards in the DTM and presented the competition with major challenges.
In addition to the Audi, other iconic vehicles also competed, including the Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II and the BMW M3 Sport Evolution. Both cars were renowned for their technical sophistication and superb handling, but they struggled to match the raw power and traction of the Audi V8. Nevertheless, their characteristic driving style and close competition made for thrilling duels and exciting races.
The Opel Omega 3000 24V Evo 500 was also part of the starting field, although it clearly fell behind against the dominant vehicles of the season. In this skinpack, the Opel Omega is represented by the 1999 Stock Car, which means you have to activate Multiclass mode to get the Omega on track. Although the Opel couldn't match the performance of the top cars, it offers a unique challenge for those who want to take on the task of getting the best out of an inferior vehicle.

To create a more balanced racing experience, I deliberately reduced the strength of the Audi drivers in the custom AI file significantly. Without this adjustment, they would have been too dominant in almost every race, which would have made the competition somewhat one-sided. On the other hand, it was necessary to increase the AI strength of the Opel drivers to the maximum, as otherwise they would hardly have had a realistic chance of keeping up with the field at all. These changes ensure that the balance of power between the different vehicles is better balanced and allows for exciting duels on the track.
Notes:
- I'll probably rework and post a new AI file when I think that's necessary
- Helmet skins might come later with an update
- Some tracks have less than 29 starting positions, i.e. it is possible that the complete field of this mod cannot be represented
