"Dessauer Rennstrecke" v. 2.01 for GT Racing 2 by Andre F1-Edition.
Prolog:
The version 2.00 is a complete reworking of my original version 1.xx for GT Legends. This means that the route was defused, the reworked AIs, the graphics have been adjusted and the CAM was created. This results in the feeling of a "new" track.
History:
The WWII was over and the citzien of Dessau searched for a track of racing. They found a place on the Autobahn between Berlin and Leipzig.
The first race was in the year of 1949 with 160000 spectators on the track. The name of the track: Dessauer Rennstrecke.
One of the best driver's in the 50's was Paul Greifzu. He won AVUS, Halle-Saale-Schleife, Stadtparkrennen Leipzig, Schotten-Rennen, Autobahn-Spinne Dresden and Osthafenkurs.
Also great positions at Eifelrennen, Sachsenring and Schauinsland.
The next race was at 10. May 1952 on the Dessauer Rennstrecke, but at this place he had a bad accident in the training to a F2-race.
A crank-shaft was broken the engine stopped immediately and the car gone head over. Paul Greifzu was dead, a sad day for the German motorsports.
Today the Dessauer Rennstrecke is an important Autobahn between Berlin and Leipzig/Dresden.
Track information:
The track started on the Autobahn in direction Leipzig, after 1 km a hairpin (Autobahnkehre) in the opposite side in direction Berlin. Now the pit is behind the exit Dessau-Sued on the left side.
A fast left turn to a connecting passage through a forest, along a timber-yard, to a hairpin(Jugendkurve) on a country road. Straight on through the Mosigkauer Heide. The next drive on the Autobahn back to start/finish. The length was 5 km, the top speed in forumla one about 180 mph.
Construction workers of the track for GTR2:
First at all thanks for Mc Wolf, without him I had not start this project.
A great AIW from Greybrad, some Objects and textures from CY-33, some textures from Thomas Lächele, Betty Swollux for the LOD-Files and everyone else that helped me with advice and assistance.
Bugs:
How could it be otherwise, even here is a problem.
At night some clipping on the track with the front headlights.
The original pitlane is a very narrow, so other AI-cars touched slightly when driving out, so be careful in the pitlane.
Test computer:
The race track was tested and developed on an standard PC with AMD Phenom II 3.2GHz with GeForce GTS 450 at a resolution of 1024 * 768.
The field was limited to 30 cars, which is in the pits and at the hairpins also the maximum.
Installation:
Should already a different version of this track have been installed, then the folder "Dessau" have be deleted in the GTR2 destination directory, as well must the HAT file be deleted, see: \GTR2\UserData\LOG\HAT.
The new files in the target directory GTR2 extract or copy (\GTR2\GameData\Locations\_Dessau).
Acknowledgments:
SimBin Studios for the great racing sim GT Racing 2.
Dave Noonan for 3DSIMED.
Disclaimer:
I'd developed the race track for GP Legends and I expanded visually and technically for GTR2.
