Before installing this skin pack, make sure you have installed the Codemasters HD texture pack, which was free in the past. As it turns out, Grid Autosport is only able to process my 4K textures when the HD texture pack is installed. I will soon upload a complete package with all 4 vehicle packages in low resolution, so that people who may have just bought Grid Autosport via key and no longer have any DLC available can also enjoy my skins.
What the hell? This time it didn't take 5 years until he finished the rest of the skins? How is that possible? And how did the guy with only one Chevrolet Cruze team fill up all 4 available Chevrolet Cruze driver slots in the game? The answer is as simple as it is sobering, namely not at all. Instead, here's a load of Toyota Avensis skins to fill up the garage places. Of course, such a Toyota Avensis is not a Chevrolet Cruze, only they are both sedan vehicles. But in the end I somehow created the Toyota skins with Photoshop magic so that they fit the Cruze pretty well. Everyone can have different opinions, but I would like to point out that the Chevrolet Cruze and Toyota Avensis skins were by far the most difficult.
Not only that half of the sponsoring companies no longer exist, no, to make matters worse, the 3D model of the Chevrolet Cruze was just terribly sloppy from Codemasters. There were crooked or non-existent window frames, there were crooked body parts, the rear doors had no gaps, the rear fender flares were present in the 3D model but not textured as such, the grille and other vehicle details appeared to be created with 1995 textures and it there weren't even any entry areas for the front doors. I tried to fix all of that with texture magic. In the end it was even enough for a Toyota radiator grille, which is not as pretty as an elf, but I think it serves its purpose.
As revenge, the Chevy and Toyota now have rusty exhausts and scratched skid plates. Bah. Please don't hit me if this or that sponsor doesn't seem right with the Toyota skins or the design is slightly different than the original vehicle. But: Apparently, the small sponsors were often changed, omitted or added after each race, so I just chose a good-looking combination. And as I've noted 7 or 12 times, the skins had to be completely adapted to the Chevrolet Cruze, which also has a completely different body kit than the Toyota Avensis. In the end, it should just look good and remind you of the original Toyota wraps. I hope you like it too.
This Mod replaces the Chevrolet Cruze Touring Cat C Class skins with actual BTCC 2016 Skins. Be sure to make a backup of your cars folder.
There are 2 Versions, with and without windows numbers/names.
For installation just copy one of the cars folder to your Grid Autosport directory.
Kelvin Fletcher is the default car in the PMR Team. If you want to drive the Hunter Abbott or Dave Newsham car, install the full Chevrolet/Toyota package at first! Then copy the cars folder from the Hunter Abbott/Dave Newsham directory to your Grid Autosport directory. Basically the same if you want to drive Chris Smiley instead of Jake Hill. First install the Complete Pack, then copy the appropriate car folder from the Chris Smiley folder to your Grid Autosport directory. As in the full package, you can choose between window numbers/names or without.
This Pack include the following playable skins:
Hunter Abbott - PMR - optional
Kelvin Fletcher - PMR - complete pack
Dave Newsham - PMR - optional
Rob Austin - Handy Motorsport - complete pack
Jake Hill - Team Hard - complete pack
Chris Smiley - Team Hard - optional
Tom Ingram - Speedworks - complete pack
Skins in fully 4K resolution with full level of detail and full mipmap level to avoid compression artifacts or flickering in the distance. Besides, I have overhauled details like the carbon pieces, window frames, the windows themselves, the grille and many other small or less small details where Codemasters has messed up. This even went so far that i even created the original rim lettering from the manufacturer ATS. I even tried to bring the outside mirrors and the inside mirror to life, which partly succeeded. Ok, that's a lie this time. The exterior mirrors of the Chevy/Toyota could not be persuaded to display anything. But the mirror glasses are now nice blue-grey. The completely messed up wheel arch liners were given a suitable texture, as were parts of the underbody that were probably simply forgotten.
Sorry if the colors don't match 100%, i'am color blind. Please have consideration.
