Dear Assetto Corsa Community,

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share an update regarding Carriera Plus, as the last update was released in September of last year. Since then, development has encountered a halt due to technical challenges, the most infuriating one being related to implementing rain correctly in career mode. This certainly wasn't the only factor, but as a matter of fact, I haven't mounted my rig in months.

As the creator of Carriera Plus, I want to express my deep appreciation for your support and feedback that kept coming even while I was absent. However, personal priorities have shifted, leaving less time for sim racing and development. This was not done by choice, but rather a natural evolution of how I wanted to spend my free time. Assetto Corsa is the most played game in my Steam library, with over a thousand hours invested, and seeing the vastness of what's out there, even just amusement-wise, I felt the need to explore other interests and allocate time to different pursuits. This is not a farewell—just a personal update. I'm genuinely optimistic that the spark for sim racing will ignite again, as it has countless times before, leading me back to the rig and to further development of Carriera Plus.

This update could and should have been posted at least a couple of months ago, but unfortunately real life can be quite demanding. As of now I'm still really busy, and being in a bit of a rush I may have forgot some little detail (hmi if you notice something).

It has been quite complicated as well - this season includes a license test and since the last time we had to tweak and balance a lot post-release, I wanted to make sure extra care was put for the next test. On top of that, unreleased series are on the works.

I think I'm speaking on behalf of the entire discord server when I say that I really do hope you enjoy this new update - and don't forget to give us some feedback!

Hi folks, I hope I haven't mislead you into hoping for Season 3 as you saw the notification... But don't worry, season 3 is in the works, and much more!

For now, we have a big batch of quality improvements for the currently available content, mostly Season 1. This update won't delete your progress, but as you can see from the changelog you may find to have won some events you never raced in and viceversa.

Be sure to check changes at ACICP - Required downloads to see all the new good stuff to download!
(Don't worry if it seems a bit much, a lot of the content will be re-used in future seasons)

  • Race Driver License:
    • Complete rework (featuring objective requirements nerfing... finally! But please, if you still struggle hit me up).
  • MAD Formula Cup (formerly Trofeo Kart Italia)
    • Complete rework of the series from the ground up in order to match the quality of the rest of the content
    • Personal note: I would have loved to keep karting in ACICP, but with season 2 coming out it started showing its weaknesses. I tried relentlessy to come up to something to get the series up to the new standard, without luck. At the end of the day, it would have been a sin not to use such good quality mods like the MFT just to be more immersive.
  • Club Racing (formerly Privateer Racing):
    • Brand new events;
    • Scrapped some events as they did not make much sense signature-wise.
  • Clio Cup:
    • Now using REAL DRIVERS;
    • Difficulty rebalancing.
  • BTCC:
    • Changed player car to the Toyota avensis in the name of player engagement and difficulty.

This is not the main reason why I'm posting this update, though.

It's really challenging to do everything on my own, since I do not have infinite time, but the hardest part is without a doubt testing. Which is, coincidentally, the part I'm stuck with at the moment.

It is a true pain to literally "guess" the average skill level of a potential player, and balancing the difficulty accordingly. Plus, "guessing" is really far from being correct, and this is the part I have a real problem with.
If progress is slow but present, that's no big deal to me. But when it comes to game balancing I'm groping in the dark.

For this reason, I am scouting for people willing to help me out with testing: even just trying the new content before the official release is precious feedback. I made a form where you can apply for a *possible* Public Beta, you can find it here:

@Callum.Brazer got in my head so I spent the afternoon developing a JSGME version for the mod. Now you are able to drag and drop the .rar file directly to CM.

PLEASE NOTE: Remove the old files. Nothing breaks if you don't do that but if you later want to uninstall the mod it won't work properly.
