Never-before-seen in any racing game (or sim), I bring you the mythical Brabham BT51 for rFactor. The model is taken from Enzo Adrignola's 1982 mod, the textures an edited version of GPC's Brabham BT49 textures, and the majority of the files coming from Varjanta's 1982 mod (which Enzo's is based on, updated to the RFE weather plug-in). The .hdv file has also been edited to accomodate for the BT51's smaller fuel tank, which means a pit-stop will be mandatory for races.
The Brabham BT51 was the original chassis designed by Gordon Murray for the 1983 season, with a small fuel tank necessitating pit-stops, a BMW M12/13 1.5l In-line 4 turbocharged engine, and a chassis reminiscent of the BT49 (and/or BT49D) complete with ground-effect venturi tunnels, though lacking the typical side-skirts which were due to be banned for 1983. With 6 weeks to go before the 1983 season, the FIA mandated flat-bottomed cars which meant the BT51 became illegal and in-need of replacing, with the radical BT52 taking its place. It was tested by Nelson Piquet and Riccardo Patrese at Paul Ricard and Donington Park throughout 1982.
This can be installed alongside the base mod, as i have given it a seperate vehicle folder and seperate .rfm file.
This mod is still in development, which means a number of things may be fixed/patched in updates. If you have any suggestions, feel free to comment.
