For VRC's awesome Beamer V12.
Since its inception in 1975, the BMW Art Car project has invited some of the world's most prominent artists to use a car's body as a canvas. In 1999 BMW launched its assault on the world of sportscar racing, and it was Jenny Holzer's turn to adorn a V12 LMRs, chassis number #004/99, with her truisms, printed in bold phosphorescent colors.
The Art Car was originally intended to race at that year's Le Mans 24h, but eventually BMW decided to only field two cars, the winning #15 and less fortunate #17.
#004/99 would be repainted in more conventional racing colors for the rest of the '99 and the '00 ALMS season, but the Jenny Holzer paint scheme would make a comeback for the 2000 Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. By then, however, the BMW was completely outclassed by the new Audi R8 roadster, and the #42 car, in the hands of JJ Letho and Jörg Müller, would only finish in 5th - eleven laps down the leader.
That would be the last outing in #004/99's five races long career; afterwards, it would join the collection at the BMW Museum, where it resides to this day.
@DavidDGA beat me to the punch and released an excellent version of the livery - but I was basically finished working on mine, and didn't want to let that work go to waste. Included in this download are the Le Mans pre-qualifying, Petit Le Mans and BMW Museum version.
