Here is a small but significant update as it add the final car/driver to the pack. This car is difficult to make an accurate skin for as there are so few images from the 1979 season available. I even emailed the Brun team to see if they had images but have not had a response. I found one for Monaco (which covers most of the car), one for Zeltweg (front on) and a couple for other races and Norisring etc. There are also two videos (Zolder, Monaco) which I was able to use to make those two skins more accurate. Yes the Denim logo really was that badly applied at Monaco, I am guessing it was a very late sponsorship deal.
So the Zolder and Monaco skins are accurate for their race. Zeltweg is accurate for the front/top of the car but sides and rear I left the same as Monaco.
I have also made a "default" skin for the rest of the races which loses the awful Denim logo and the headlight taping of the Zeltweg skin. I leave it up to you which skin to use for the remaining championship rounds
#61 Brun Motorsport - Walter Brun
Default skin
Zolder
Monaco
Zeltweg
A small update compared to the last one but this adds an important car to the mix as the pack now includes multiple skins for Hans-Joachim Stuck's car.
I have also included the "Minolta" skin for the 88 Konrad car when it was driven at Hockenheim by 'John Winter'
There is also a small correction to the #60 De Angelis skin which he ran at Zandvoort.
Happy racing
Here is the latest update to my skinpack for the 1979 season of the BMW M1 Procar championship and it is pretty extensive.
First it adds two new teams to the collection
#44 GS Team Marko - Markus Hottinger
#45 Memphis Team International - Sepp Manhalter
It also adds all the remaining BMW Motorsport drivers (within the limitations of the slots available in Automobilista 2 (currently 26 for the BMW M1)
#1 BMW Motorsport - Mario Andretti
#4 BMW Motorsport - Jean-Pierre Jarier
#14 BMW Motorsport - Emerson Fittipaldi
Plus it adds multiple alternative skins for the teams that had livery changes during the season. Here I have just shown a few as it is way too many images to include in an update but there are now a total of 64 skins in the pack. This includes correct skins for drivers sharing a car such as Surer and Hotz in the #71 car and the #90 car which was shared by 4 drivers including Tiff Needell and Theo Fabi
It also includes a skin for the #66 Kelleners car as it raced at Zolder which I don't think has been released for any other sim .
I have also included skins for the following drivers even though there isn't room for them at the moment so you can replace other drivers with them if you so desire.
#2 BMW Motorsport - Carlos Reutemann - Silverstone
#25 BMW Motorsport - Patrick Depailler - Monaco
I wanted to get an update out this weekend but have run out of time to finish everything so here are the things that are still to be created.
The two remaining teams to fill out the complete list
#77 Cassani Racing - Hans-Joachim Stuck - a really complicated livery
#61 Team Lepitre - Walter Brun. There are almost no images of this car as it ran in 1979 and those that are show that none of the skins released for Automobilista 2 or Race Room are actually correct .
#88 Team Konrad - John Winter skin for Hockenheim.
If you want to see a run down of the skins now included I will update the main page accordingly.
**** Please note. I have reorganised the additional skins into a new folder so delete the folder called "Alternatives" in your exisiting installation. I have now reorganised the folder by subfolders "By Circuit" and "By Driver" which means if you want an easy way to recreate a particular race you can just copy all the files for that circuit into your main Procar folder.
**** Please Note #2. You will need Jusk's excellent AI file here https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/jusks-bmw-m1-procar-1979-custom-ai.50899/
to get the full benefit of an accurate championship with only the correct drivers at each circuit.
Here is the next update to this 1979 season skin pack. It includes the following
New skins
#41 Airpress Racing - Wolfgang Schütz
#66 Eggenberger Motorsport - Helmut Kelleners
Fixes
#90 BMW Motorsport - Hans-Georg Bürger
The #66 car is not actually complete and I am looking for some help from you to let me know what it says on the banner on the doors. I have attached the best images I could find. Let me know what you think it says and I will then update the skin and include it as a fix in the next release.
cheers
Here are a few more skins I have had time to work on
#50 Tom Walkinshaw Racing - Dieter Quester
#55 Team Krebs - Jochen Mass
#99 Alimpo Sport - Toine Hezemans
The Quester car comes with an alternative skin for Silverstone
I have also included small fixes to the following cars
#5 Project Four Racing - Niki Lauda
#70 Osella Squadra Corse
Another quick update to include the 2 BMW Motorsport I promised yesterday.
#26 BMW Motorsport - Jacques Laffite
#90 BMW Motorsport - Hans-Georg Bürger
Burger only raced in 2 races towards the end of the season so there is no "Early" livery for his car. Also, while I know his name should have an umlaut over the 'U' I can't find any photos that actually show they had them.
There is also a fix to the xml file which erroneously included details of the #45 Manhalter car which I am currently working on.
and the earlier season version for Laffite
Speaking of the #45 Manhalter car is anybody able to identify this cartoon duck that is on the trailing edge of the front wings of his car? Would be good to have a decent source image to work from. These are the best shots I have of it
Here's an update to add 4 BMW Motorsport cars to the mix. I have included early and mid-season versions of these liveries and I have included an "Alternatives" folder with them in.
BMW Motorsport had 6 cars (in the classic livery) that they reserved for the fastest qualifiers at each European F1 GP. Over the course of the 8 rounds they had 14 different drivers behind the wheel although only 6 of them drove at more than one race. These are the drivers I am going to focus on for the time being. I may eventually circle back round to provide the others as alternatives at a later date.
The following cars are new:
#3 BMW Motorsport - Didier Pironi
#6 BMW Motorsport - Nelson Piquet
#27 BMW Motorsport - Alan Jones
#28 BMW Motorsport - Clay Regazzoni
This update also includes a small fix to the #70 Giacomelli car and an airdam colour change for the #80 Lafosse car (I wish we could specify metallic colours ).
The remaining two BMW drivers I intend to include in a future update are:
#26 BMW Motorsport - Jacques Lafitte
#90 BMW Motorsport - Hans-Georg Bürger
And some examples of the Early season liveries
