The Auerberg hill climb was a A2B race located in south Bavaria (Germany). It took place in between 1967 to 1987. Within this time about 3000 racecars and 2000 motorcycles competed against each other. The track record was set in 1986 with a Pedrazza Racing Car F2 by Walter Pedrazza (1:17.60)(as far as I know).

In 2017 the Auerberg returned under the name "1.Auerberg Klassik" with mainly old-timer motorcycles and a focus on constant driving to require the modern environmental and safety regulations. In 2019 and this year, even old-timer racecars showed demonstration runs with the voluntary use of synthetic E-fules.

This mod is an homage to the old competition from the 60's-80's but can't represent it correctly due to slightly other road layout, width, and surfaces. I mainly used videos and pictures from the 2019 classic to model the surrounding and adept the road. Especially the forest area and the first Hairpin turn is a little off compared to the real counterpart.

compair:

Features:
  • Length: 3.0 km
  • Width: 7 m
  • Turns: 16 (it depends on how you count it ;))
  • Hairpin: 2
  • Pits: 6 (not all pits are tested)

This track is modelled in blender with the osm import tool, some 3d trees were generated by the blender sampling Tree expansion. Almost every 3d model is self-made and textured, (it's my first project so pls don't expect polished quality)(what are Normal Maps ;) )
