This is simply a template file, constructed in GIMP, for creating custom team liveries for Assetto Corsa. The great part of AC's livery design is that the `ac_crew.dds` is the same for every car, so if you have a consistent "team" identity, you can make your team livery once, then copy it to every car with a similar livery.

Credit is due to two other developers on whom I based my work:
- Michael Doherty's template v2.5 which nicely defines and labels the parts of the template
- This forum post by Pat2611, from which I was able to use the semi-transparent layer that provides the material textures on the various parts.
The template has several layers and layer groups, from top to bottom:
- TEXTURES provides the material texture for the various parts of the template. You won't want to edit this layer; just leave it on top, and it will give you all the scratches, wrinkles, and other texturing that applies to the parts of the template.
- DECALS (add things here) would be the area where you add things like text layers for your team name, additional decal graphics, etc. This is your space to really customize the livery.
- SEGMENT LABELS (hide before saving) will show you some labels that tell you what each segment of the template will do. As directed, you should hide this entire layer group before exporting your custom `ac_crew.dds`.
- SEGMENTS AS LAYERS provides a separate, independent layer for each region of the template. You can safely select-all and paint each layer in order to define a background color for each region. You could also paint details directly on these layers if desired. By defining each region as its own layer, you may safely draw lines and other figures that extend beyond the region's boundary, but the layer boundary will cut off the excesses, so that they don't intrude on other regions.
- BACKGROUND is the overall background layer for the whole template. You can paint the "main" color of your livery across this entire background, and then optionally paint the individual region layers, but any region layer that remains transparent will simply show this background color.
