Hello AMS2 Community!
I am still working on an update. Sorry about being late.
I am running into unexpected issues when dealing with finding the steam installation directory. I am going to skip this feature for now, Going to do a full update of NAMeS, soon.
Expect a release around Friday this week.
Thank you to everyone that participated in the poll. I have been quite busy for the last few months. I started working in senior position in one of the biggest telecommunications companies in Armenia.
Since AMS2 1.5.3 is on the horizon I decided to start working on the update now, so I can release the new version in a week from when AMS2 1.5.3 is going to be released.
I have considered the results from the poll and am going to start working on the features that have been requested the most:
Additionally I am returning to the development of AMS2 Livery Packager, but that project is going to take quite a lot of time to manifest.
- Ability to generate a grid that is based on a championship points table
- Import of modded vehicle classes from livery override files.
- Option to automatically drop the exported grids in the game folder (Steam only)
Hello, AMS2 Community! After the 2.2 update I have noticed a significant uptick of people downloading and using this program. I am currently starting to prepare to begin outlining a roadmap for version 2.3 and I need your help.
I made a Poll where I asked some important questions relating to features that may or may not be developed for version 2.3.
Also, I am now open to feature suggestions from the members of the community. Head over to discussion and request a feature that you want to see. If it is possible to realize, also please upvote features you like so that I know which features are more popular with my users.
The reason why this poll is important is because there is going to be a major rework of one of the components of the program - Vehicle Class Library in 2.3
The Vehicle Class Library is going to be reworked due to the fact that this utility is become a part of a larger more ambitious project: AMS2 Modding Platform. (More details on that later), and I want to have uniformity between how Livery Overrides see Vehicle Classes and how Custom Drivers see Vehicle Classes.
Bugfix:
- Fixed a misplaced xml tag in the vehicle class library that caused some classes to not load.
Bugfix:
If you are experiencing issues with exporting grids (Especially after importing from another source.) Download this update, and you should be able to save (export) any grid that successfully loads (imports) whether modded or not.
- Fixed a major bug in the new rounding of values function, that resulted in short values being cropped beyond their actual length.
If you experience any bugs (such as not being able to open a specific custom grid file), please inform me in the discussion page (please include information on which file you were unable to load/save)
Ams 2 CDU 2.2 is a major update bringing in new features and quality of life improvements:
First Major feature of this release is Dynamic highlighting. When using (choose livery) liveries that are already taken are going to be highlighted in yellow. If it happens that you have accidentally chosen the same livery twice the drivers affected are also going to be highlighted yellow.
Second Major Feature is custom rounding of generated values. In V2.1 when you used Random or applied noise to a gradient you had the "true" value exported which could be dozens of digits long. Now you can set how many digits you want to keep for precision. By default this option is now enables and is set to 2 digits after the point as tends to be the community unofficial standard.
The Last Major feature is a feature proposed during the development of version 2.0 Custom Mass Modify: choose some drivers from the list and modify only their values using the mass modify tool.
The best part of working on this project is working with the community of simracers. THK86 graciously contributed a new logo. Icon and a banner to thus project. They definitely improve the look of the welcome screen and the general look of the app. I especially like how he used AMS2CDU color scheme. I have to give thanks to John B. Ellis for his NAMeS project. Of course all libraries have been updated to version 1.5 of AMS 2 and new version of NAMeS is used.
There have been also some minor visual changes to the program (like the list in the track specific override is no longer greyed out. And the livery choice box is now limited in length and redesigned (itsa combo box now)) This program now has tooltips in every window and screen. (Except the welcome screen)
Updated for Automobilista 1.4.8.1
Features a new New Grid Wizard window, Mass Modify tool, and Tooltips for the main window, track override editor, new grid wizard and mass modify tool.
New Save button for the grid, ability to directly edit driver names and country in the table itself, and some minor GUI improvements.
Many minor bugfixes (like the .xml.xml bug for modded grids)
