Mirrors now should appears
added Accelerate sticker behind the steering wheel
THE STEERING WHEEL IS NOT FINISHED YET. THERE ARE SOME ADJUSTMENTS I SHOULD MADE BUT I DON'T HAVE ANY GUESS/TIME TO END IT. THAT'S WHY I KEEP DISABLING IT YET. FOR ENABLE THE STEERING WHEEL, EDIT THE EXT_CONFIG.INI AND SEARCH FOR 'STEERING WHEEL ACTIVATION', AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS (PUT 1 INSTEAD OF 0 IN THE ACTIVE TAG). THANKS FOR READING
Leds are weird and the bolts textures have a black background. Don't worry, I'm gonna fix in future updates.
THERE MIGHT BE ANY HOTFIX IF I SEE A FAIL. PLEASE REPORT TO ME IF YOU FIND ONE.
READ IMPORTANT.
As it's something experimental and not the final product, the steering wheel feature is disabled by defect. You can enable it by editing the ext_config.ini, put 1 instead of 0 where 'STEERING WHEEL ACTIVATION' line is (Search it, there are 2 lines with it, be aware)
W12 Steering wheel evolved from last year, so it's slightly different than the one from F1 2021 (or even iRacing). This feature is yet in WIP, but I choose to bring this for everyone to enjoy while I finish it. I have to do few details (back sticker w/ the name, back buttons like the 'Magic Button', etc...) and finish the whole integration to the original steering wheel.
Carbon fiber texture was missing (fixed now)
The W12 fins have been slightly updated. There will be a major update in the near future with another feature and more changes (the same for AMR21 add-on)
Remember to move the offset camera in the 'Camera Editor' (developer mode) in order to see a realistic FOM onboard camera
I've fixed the LODB to LOD_B and added LOD_C after noticed that it was wrong.
I wanted to include this from the beginning, but I didn't have any experience to do it. After gained some experience with all my add-ons, I decided to finish this.
Also I want to note that this looks weird since the car seems to have a larger nose than a real car, but this is what it is since it's adapting something to the RSS Chassis.
- The round nose doesn't have the best mesh, I know. Especially the AMR21 one, which is a little bit bumpy because I had to adapt it to the GEO_HR_MAP mesh.
- I will update and improve it (as any other add-on) in future updates, so this might not be the final version.
- AMR21 round nose was a little bit difficult to do since it combines two kind of textures.
- I decided to make round nose mesh high poly since It's a essential element of the contour of the car. Note that this increase the size of the add-on.
- W12 round nose doesn't have the Merc logo in it as the real car, but because obviously I can't adapt the main 2021_Chassis_P texture to it. I suggest to edit it and put the Merc logo texture a little bit down of the original location in order to see it well located.
- Overall, the texture of both round noses are a mess. So my final aim was not being so precise so it can look high quality from few centimeters, but make it look good from video cameras and photos.
- If you didn't notice, Aston Martin decided to quit the winglets after Mexican GP. I decided to leave them.
- If you want to disable the round nose, just go to the SHADER_REPLACEMENT section in the ext_config.ini which contains the 'amr21nose.kn5' and turn the ACTIVE=1 to ACTIVE=0. Or if you don't want lost time, just delete the 'amr21nose.kn5' file
Last but not least, I can finally say this is the 1.0 version, which includes everything I was thinking to include since I though of creating this add-on. This obviously doesn't mean I won' t include anything else.
I decided to remake the AMR21 fins. They are the same that the W12 bull horns, but without the horns. It also contain less verts than the previous version, which decrease the size of the file.
Also the ext_config for the AMR21 got updated with the last update of the livery.
- The 3d model and the texture of the bull horn winglet have been improved after the release I've made recently.
- The size of the file was too high (~39MB) and now it's 4MB.
After a long time without update this resource and following the line of my work these weeks, I decided to do something for this add-on. Note that this is not the 1.0 version yet, but the 0.9.5 because there will be more updates regarding the textures of the winglets and fix possible bugs with the shaders.
You can change the carbon fiber texture by adding a 'carbon_fiber.dds' texture in the livery folder. Also, if you don't like this update, you can download previous version in the 'History' tab. I'm always opened to any kind of feedback, of what's wrong and what I can improve to make this more realistic. Don't hesitate to tell me
As always, textures and shaders will improve in future updates.
- New fin
- Bull horn fin has been remade. Now it has almost 10k verts less than previous version (those verst were unnecesary).
- Windscreen now has a kind of contour shape bright. This is also for AMR21
The onboard camera, which you have to modify slightly in the Camera Editor in order to see the realistic FOM camera.
I missed in one word. There was no shaders for the W12 fins, but now I've fixed it. However, I not only did that but also I've added reflections to the fins.
The 3d model of the W12 horns have been improved slightly.
ACSPRH helmets now are correct for each drivers (Bottas and Stroll)
Thanks to @Fonsvinkunas who noticed of this. Hopefully, for the F1 2021 community pack update this week everything will be fixed (if there is another error)
I don't forget about the add-ons. This is an update I wanted to do long time ago but didn't have the time. I hope this fix the render glitch that it's on the windscreen (Please, let me know if the glitch is fixed up at all). I will try to upgrade it in the future, along a realistic W12 fin.
Alpine winglets add-on are in the TO-DO list and I will work on it again (they were in early alpha stage) as soon as I get at this again.
I didn't have time to improve all I would liked it.
- The winglet and windscreen 3d model and shaders were slightly improved. It will improve in future updates. The same for the textures. The winglet shader in Mercedes W12 looks weird, with almost no gloss like the chassis. But they have the same shaders values and parameters. I don't know the reason of why it doesn't look glossy like the car chassis :/
- The windscreen 3d model is slightly improved but still a little bit glitched. It will be remade in future updates.
- Merged Aston Martin AMR21 add-on as they 'share' the same chassis/aerodynamic.
- 'Discussion' tab could be used to tease new things for future updates, so stay tuned.
