Does what it says on the tin!
This is something I've been working on for the past week with the help of a bunch of RD users to try and bring a better, more consistent way of judging track limits in Assetto Corsa.
The mod is very simple. For each track, there is a new layout with the surfaces.ini modified to treat kerbs, astro-turf, concrete and other off-track surfaces as just that - off track. This way, however you choose to measure track limits, 1 wheel, 2 wheels, 3 wheels or even 4 wheels on track, Assetto Corsa will measure this to the edge of the tarmac.
THIS MOD DOES NOT REPLACE OR MODIFY THE DEFAULT TRACKS - It creates new layouts for each track.
Both the server AND the client need a copy of the new tracks installed for this to work. I have included a lightweight "Server Edition" so you don't have to upload too much to your server if you want to use it online.
Installation:
Simply extract, and copy the 'content' folder to your 'assettocorsa' folder in steamapps\common (where the AssettoCorsa.exe is).
It should not replace any files, unless you have had the mod installed previously.
Please enjoy this mod, and I hope it helps those more adamant about track limits enjoy racing in AC more, as I know some are frustrated by the loose definition of track limits in some instances.
KNOWN ISSUES:
There is no 'Classic' varient of Vallelunga, as where the layouts merge detects as a cut if I change anything.
Some random off-track areas of tarmac etc don't detect on some tracks, but you shouldn't be able to gain time on any of them.
If you have any issues, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Works great with AC Server Manager:
