With thanks to member oilfaer these cars now have working windshield wipers. The update also repairs a chrome issue for the windshield on the Competition model. Note that this update changes the installation procedure for the mod. Read the ReadMe! Sorry for all the updates recently.
Unfortunately I made a mistake on the power for the stock AC_289_Sports. This will bring it back to stock. My apologies. I realize updates are a pain in the butt.
This update adds another model called the AC_289_Sports_S1. It has been created specifically to compete head to head with the AC Legends GTC Cobras. There are also now license plates and proper fender badges included for customization.
This update has two purposes. The installation has been simplified. The second part of the update gives you the option to install an ini file that allows you to have control over the audio volumes of the sfx pack for each car. The sound that came with this car has a very low exterior volume. This new ini file will fix that if you are still using the sound that came with the download. You will be able to adjust these levels yourself if desired. There is a detailed 'Read Me' file included that should be read before you install this option. Nothing else has been changed with the cars. Enjoy!!
***After this fairly large file was uploaded to Race Department I noticed two minor things that need to be done. First, I accidentally (again) left the data.acd file in the folder for the AC 289 Sports (stock) version. Please delete that data.acd file as it is over-ruling the proper data folder. Secondly, in order to have working flames on the Competition version you will need to copy the flames.ini file from either one of the other cars and paste it into the data folder of the Competition version. Sorry for the hassle! ****
This update gathers everything together so that only one download is needed. My apologies for not doing this sooner. There are now three versions of the car in this update. The stock version at 260-270 hp, the trackday version which is now at 340 hp and I am now including a competition version at 390 hp. The competition version closely matches the specs of the famous FIA cobras but this car is on the newer frame with coil spring suspension. It's quite the performer! This competition version has different sound from the other two. It has the sfx from the AC Legends 1965 Mustang to give it some snarl. It also has a good compliment of skins that came with the car from the meco and pankykapus who were the original builders of this fabulous mod as a 427 Shelby Cobra car. All credit for this car should go to them as I have only doctored the specs and changed badges. I received Marc's permission to re-upload his car with these modifications.
Installation is simple as they are complete cars. Inside the zip file you will find a folder titled 'AC 289 Models'. Inside that folder are the three cars. Just paste them into your cars directory and you are good to go!
I have realized a mistake in the data for the stock AC 289 Sports. The most recent update to stock horsepower was not reflected in the data.acd file before upload. I should have properly re-tested this before uploading it. Please delete the current data folder for the stock AC_289_Sports and paste this one in it's place.
Also included in this update is a revised ui file for the AC_289_Trackday car. There is a revised description including revised actual horsepower and torque values. This was a noob mistake on my part but I stand by these updated values as being realistic for a track version of this car. Shelby Cobra 289 cars often had performance figures such as these back in the day. Four webers, etc. Have fun...that is, after all, why we are all here. Isn't it?
