After only 3 and a half years of on and (mostly) off work, with a helluva lot of support from several people, I’m finally ready to unleash this little beast on the world.
An antidote to the modern automotive industry, the 2023 Fenix 30-6 Chinook is a pint-sized mid engined sports car for the masses. Think modern incarnation of the MR2, or Fiero. Small, simple, light, agile, and attainable—exactly what a sports car should be, and nothing more.
There’s still a few rough edges, a few items I’d like to tweak and improve. I’ll make those changes as I fix any reported issues to be addressed, along with some other surprises.
Features
- Dual-colour body, easily controlled with detail textures. Nose accent, wheel accent, stitching accent and interior accent colours are dynamic per-skin and easily swapped
- Custom license plates, in either typical Euro wide rectangle or North American sizes. North American size plates have optional plastic plate surround as well. All controlled through textures so they work in CM showroom as well (CSP not required)
- “Track mode” means the rear-view camera stays active (for non-csp users)
- Android Auto equipped head unit (for CSP users)
Credits/Special Thanks
- All design, modeling and textures (barring the below noted) are all by myself
- @aphidgod and Arch - physics. They’ve done an incredible job bringing this little thing to life. It’s a blast to drive, and all credit for that goes to them. This upload would not exist without them, so thank you!
- @Brandydo - testing, soundboarding ideas, moral support and encouragement
- @Stereo - Blender ksanim plugin and driver rig. Massive help.
- @Johnr777 - CSP config help, cameras.ini
- Johnr777, @AccAkut , Stereo, Luchian, @mclarenf1papa , @Ben O'Bro - testing, advice, patience answering all of my many, many, stupid questions
- Kunos - Soundbank (Cayman GT4), alcantara and interior metal detail textures
- The whole community, for producing content to keep the game alive and serve as examples for numpties like myself to reference and learn from
- @daveds3 for the wonderful screenshots
- @aphidgod again for offering to do physics. This was initially just going to be a base model for another project, but it exists now as a full mod car because of Jason’s generosity.
