The 3rd and last generation Toyota MR2, AKA MR-S or MR-S Spyder was known as a baby Porsche Boxster or a poor man's Lotus Elise. In the C Stock autoX or SCCA it was often outclassed, now it is placed in E Street class.
These files are the result of my attempt to produce a stock spec Toyota MRS using realistic suspension data as much as I can from Velo's 2002 MR-S mod. This is tuned for forgiving but spirited handling characteristics. There is enough tuning options for a typical AutoX enthusiast racing in old C Stock class or newer E Street class, essentially only one ARB, damping, and tires are changeable.
Must have Velo's mod installed first. You may choose to overwrite Velo's files with mine. If you wish to keep Velo's mod, then duplicate Velo's mod by either using AC Car Tuner or create a new directory then copying in Velo's files before overwriting with my files. For your information, Velo's car is stiffer and more "responsive" where mine is "softer" and more forgiving. Using the same tires, their time are close.
I do wish someone can work on the tyres. The OZ wheels are not stock unfortunately.
Love to have some feedback from MR-S owners, and if anyone offer real data for suspension components.
Files and Changes Note:
Car.ini: inertia, steering ratio
Drivetrain.ini: gears and final drive ratio
Suspension.ini: CG height, caster, rear wishbone geometry, OE wheelrate, damping
Setup.ini added damping adjustment
setup files:
OE_D4_7: a standard OE like soft damping ratio of 0.4 bump and 0.7 rebound.
AutoX: a slightly stiffer damping setup. For touge or track use.
